UNDER THE BRIDGE. In September of 2022, I got the opportunity of my career to design this show. I worked alongside an unbelievably talented art department from Vancouver to build a total of 28 studio sets and 51 locations over 8 episodes and do our best to make Rebecca Godfrey’s story about the Reena Virk case, come to life.

Many of my crew grew up with Reena on Vancouver Island and if not as a peer, then as a member of the community who read the stories of her case in the newspaper. The intimacy of this made our job even more inspiring and devastating. Countless hours were spent researching and talking to different experts on the case.

Though this story is dramatized for television, I hope that the design helps to ground the show in a reality that doesn’t distract from the pain of what happened and helps you reflect on how bullying still pervades the lives of our youth.

Over the next while, i am going to share some BTS of our show!!! For today, here’s an ode to the amazing crew 💗

Got to spend some time on the mountain 🏂 this my happy place, not in an office! And I have the freedom to choose when and where I go!

I even got to meet a @reicircle member in the wild! She went through our Expedition program.

The best part about directing is you (and your brother) get to make 100s of decisions a day all based on your precious lil “feelings 🥰” and then everyone on set works 10 times harder than you to make your vision a reality.
