"And thus there awoke in the world the Two Trees of Valinor. Of all things which Yavanna made they have most renown, and about their fate all the tales of the Elder Days are woven."

In honor of San Diego Comic Con this weekend… I’m sharing some of the best memories! I still can’t believe how amazing it was to attend last year and meet so many of my LOTR besties in person 💚
I’m not attending this year, but I hope everyone going has a blast!

I’ve talked about how being a woman in Tolkien spaces is hard. But you know what makes it worth it? The friends and fellowship you form together. @silmarilleanne and @silmaremily were some of the first people I connected with when I started making Tolkien content. We’ve been “online friends” for years and yesterday I got to meet them both for the first time. These two are exactly the people they are online: kind, intelligent, hilarious, and welcoming.

Getting to spend the day exploring my old stomping grounds of Appalachia with them just made it all the more magical. This place was my ‘Middle-earth’ as a kid and getting to return as an adult with new Tolkien-friends was a special day.

I love you both and miss you so much already.
Here’s to all sharing the same middle name, giant snails, proper American brunches and fixing our hair the same way so no one can tell us apart.

When do we get to do this again? (and we’ve gotta get more of us together next time) 😭
