The Nutcracker is full of bangers, but Snow Scene might go the hardest 💪🔥❄️

CRACKED NUTS: Not Your Mother’s Nutcracker is *flurrying* on over to The Big Room at Silva this holiday season to make you laugh, cry, and sway away to the Nutcracker music you know and love ❤️ your favorite Nutcracker characters hit the stage, with a comedic twist.

Snowflakes? Nah. We have Snow Yetis in hazmat suits and tutus.

Clara? Yep, but she’s a Type A Office Manager with a plan.

Drosselmeyer? Yeah, but he’s the HR Manager affectionately known as Dross. And he’s got a lot of people to write up.

Sugarplum Fairy? More like… Sugar, the directionally challenged stripper who showed up to *entertain* the WRONG corporate Christmas party.

There will be laughs, dancing, drinking, and a heartwarming (and sometime, heart racing) story to keep the holiday cheer going well into the new year.

Tickets on sale NOW for CRACKED NUTS, one night only at Silva in Grand Rapids, MI 🔨🥜🎄

I’m honored to have played a meaningful role in such a historic weekend in the great city of Grand Rapids as the NAACP branch celebrated 60 years of fighting injustice, advancing civil rights, and uplifting our communities.

From helping inspire this year’s theme to moderating the keynote discussion and serving as the dedicated spoken-word artist, I’m grateful to have contributed to such a powerful milestone. I also had the honor of sharing the stage with four incredible individuals whose futures are just as bright as their impact.

Being part of this weekend reminded me why this organization and its mission mean so much to me. I’m proud to continue contributing to the work and legacy of the NAACP as we look ahead to another 60 years of progress, empowerment, and continuing the fight. ✊🏾❤️ #NAACP #legacy #impact

Come with me to the @fansoffictionfest 😍

What an incredible afternoon, with authors, readers, and friends. I am still absolutely reeling from the wonderful people I was able to see, meet, and reconnect with!

I don’t even know where to start, and I’m sure I’ll have more to say soon, but it was the perfect day.

@thebigroom_gr was a stunning venue, and after the author fest, we popped onto @silvagrandrapids and what a perfect vibe. The staff were so, so wonderful. Watching them interact with each other and the way they interacted with guests was such a joy.

A collection as unique as the venue itself!

We loved collaborating with Kathryn Chaplow Interior Design on a custom framing project for Silva, an entertainment experience in northwest Grand Rapids built around letting loose, having fun, and making memories.

A space with that much personality called for something beyond traditional framing. This project was a fun challenge for our team, pushing us to think creatively about how to display a collection of objects and stories in unexpected ways.

From engineering solutions to make heavy, three-dimensional objects appear to float, to framing blueprints of the historic building in a way that invites people to literally touch history, every detail required thoughtful problem-solving. Add in playful games, books, and other unexpected pieces, and the result is a collection that feels right at home in a place designed for discovery.

This is one of the things we love most about custom framing. It isn't just about protecting and displaying an object. It's about finding the right solution to tell its story, preserve its character, and make it part of a larger experience.

Thank you to Kathryn Chaplow Interior Design for bringing us into this creative collaboration. We love a project that challenges us to think differently!
