GREY MATTERS
I have always struggled with being defined as one thing. I am constantly evolving through the constraints of imposed labels.

“Grey Matters” is a series born from a conversation with @antonyfitzgerald1964 about society’s perception of people when they reach a certain age. I had to mull this over for a while before reaching a point where portraiture could extend beyond the face, become less fixed, and where presence could be felt, or seen being absorbed by the environment.
There are moments when we do feel absorbed by it all. I am pretty sure that is valid for everyone, and more so for some of us. Moments where we are still unmistakably there, but the environment and people around us are louder, heavier, more dominant. Where it becomes harder to see the person clearly, yet that person is also harder to erase because they have an undeniable presence no matter what. @silver_cam2 is one of them.

Thank you so much @djeneba.aduayom for this amazing shoot; against all odds (weather wise).

It's really important to note that everyone in this shoot is over 60.

Because, what we think and how we feel is so important. We are so grateful to have reached this great age.

2025 you have been a pleasure! 🌱🫶🏾 It has been such an honour to host and share time with so many wonderful beings, connecting with each other and the land! learning from the plants and from one another. Huge gratitude to each and every person who joined me on a walk this year, and to everyone who has supported this page. Thank you for the beautiful exchanges and the genuine interest in plant wisdom and medicine.Social media often gets a bad rap, but I’m continually reminded of the beautiful ways it allows us to connect across different spaces. To be able to share this work and connect with so many of you through this platform is a real gift. Although this period doesn’t truly mark the New Year in a natural sense we are still stepping into 2026! I hope and pray it’s filled with abundance, growth, love and prosperity for the earth and us as humanity!
