I am in Arlington VA for my grandfather’s memorial service and yesterday honored his life with family and friends ❤️. This is the story of that day through food - breakfast was at one of our favorite restaurants for family gatherings, @silver_diner. When my grandparents first took us to Silver Diner (I might have been 10-12), I was SO stoked about the milkshakes and getting the extra metal cup of milkshake that couldn’t fit in the glass 😂 As an adult I am still stoked about the (vegan!) milkshakes in addition to the number of clearly labeled vegan options 🌱. I got the vegan eggs benny with a side of veggie sausage and an oatmilk horchata latte. Delicious! The pesto underneath the just egg scramble and tempeh bacon is a nice touch. 2. We visited Eden Center, a Vietnamese shopping plaza, and I got a tofu and veggie banh mi (my favorite sandwich) and a whole bunch of interesting goods from the Vietnamese grocery store (which is absolutely massive and packed with interesting things!). This area is so wonderfully multicultural and I am grateful to my grandfather for inspiring my love of travel and trying new things 💚 3. These are all the accidentally vegan goodies I picked up at the Vietnamese grocery store - so excited to try! 4. Dinner at @divan.mclean, a Persian restaurant to honor my grandfather’s youth growing up in Iran. He always delighted in telling us stories from Iran and using his Farsi with the waitstaff. This was a delicious meal (Persian food is so good!!) and a beautiful evening. I got the veggie khoresht badamjan (a tomato saffron stew of sautéed eggplant, olives, yellow split peas, lemon, sour grape, dried lime and mint, and saffron tahdig (rice with a perfect crispy layer on top). The stew came with crispy potato strings on top which was a textural delight! So so good. 5. Appetizers at Divan: roasted cauliflower in a mustard-garlic broth and hummus with Persian bread. So flavorful and delicious! 6. Dessert at Divan: faloodeh (a traditionally vegan Persian dessert!) Sorbet with rice vermicelli, sugar, rosewater, lime juice, and sour cherry syrup. The texture of the crunchy noodles in sorbet was fun, I just wish it had a stronger s

Dani worked (I also worked by running the table) at the Virginia Psychic Fair this past weekend, and I couldn't be more proud of her. She was booked solid from the time the doors opened at 9AM all the way through 5PM. She was offering 15-minute readings, and she had almost a 2-hour wait time!!! The day was long, but I enjoyed working side by side with her and talking to everyone. The Fair was only one day, but we decided to take the opportunity of being so close to DC that we spent Saturday venturing around. I took her to the Planet Word Museum. It was super cute! Then we had to of course take advantage of treating ourselves to delicious vegan food! Lastly, we walked around Dupont Circle. It was a long but amazing weekend. P.S. If you've ever thought about getting a reading... I hope this gives you a little more insight into just how good she is! One person out of a group would get a reading, and before I knew it, the whole group wanted one. Lastly, I got some of my games printed to test them out. They were fun!

What a weekend in Washington, DC! The #BananaBowl was absolutely insane. There were so many moving parts to pull off something like this, but it was fun to get to be a small part of the big picture! We were able to sneak in a couple good meals while we were in town!!!
