✨ Birth Disappointment ✨

This is postpartum. Raw and real.

Here I am 2 days after my 2nd Caesarean that I tried so so hard to avoid. My first time getting out of the bed to finally shower. Sore and swollen, bleeding and bruised.

The feeling of defeat in myself and my body. I so desperately wanted that VBAC, so why couldn’t I just do the thing my body was made for?
I remember laying on the bed sobbing as I could feel the tugging and pressure of the doctors during the surgery. Every single emotion just hit me like a slap in the face.

People say things like, “just be happy you have a healthy baby”, like that’s supposed to just make the feelings go away, and I am so so grateful for my baby girl, but I still feel disappointed and I don’t think that feeling will ever change. But I’ve come to terms with the way that the births of my children went, and you know what, I went through a huge freaking surgery that had a damn hard recovery and I think I’m a superwoman for that!

Grieving the birth you didn’t get is such a huge thing and ITS OKAY to feel that way. It doesn’t make you a bad parent. I feel as though it’s a topic we don’t talk about enough. So here’s to everyone who’s births didn’t go as planned, you’re a super mum either way and you’re not alone💖

Oh and my @partumpanties were a godsend🙏🏽

Thank you for sharing your very real and valid birth experience @silver_stork There is no right or wrong way to feel and you are certainly not alone 💕

A little bit of pampering sounds like a distant dream right now, as I’m sitting in my living room surrounded by three crying kids and a giant mess. 😥

These goodies are waiting for me upstairs and as soon as bedtime hits, I’m so there. To all my fellow burnt out Mamas who are considering hiding in the bathroom for a few hours today… you’re not alone.

Don't forget to use MAMAJAGS10 for a discount over at @silver_stork - these curated parcels are the best gifts for family or friends… or yourself!
