zeppelin and I stepped into the jumper ring for the first time together yesterday! we had some great rounds, and I’m super excited about the sj progress we’ve made. it was also fun to be back in this arena since it’s where checkmate and I had our first show back in 2020!

It’s hard not to dream big when you’re sitting on a horse like this. 🤍

HH Boost was an absolute star for our first recognized event together at Florida Horse Park Fall Horse Trials! He really showed his class in all three phases, and I couldn’t be happier with our first outing together!

We started the weekend with a 30.0 in dressage, with some really lovely moments and improvements throughout the test. Show jumping was a great learning experience as we continue to figure each other out and I learn where I need to be to give him the best ride. We finished the weekend with a fantastic cross country round, and I couldn’t be happier with how confidently he tackled everything asked of him!

So proud of this horse and everything we’re learning together. Looking forward to moving up at Majestic Oaks next month! ❤️

Fun little grid lesson today with @edb_eventing !! Haven’t done these in a year and thought we’d be rusty, but of course he proves me wrong

Last week, we hosted our Equine Handling, Grooming and TPR meeting at Silver Lining Equestrian center! We are so thankful to @auburneventing for coming out and teaching us about horses, and for @silverliningec for hosting us at your facility! Members had the opportunity to gain hands on experience with taking vitals, grooming and in hand skills, and we finished out the night with dinner at our social at Waldo's! Thank you to all who came out, and we are so excited to see everyone this week at the Beef Unit for our large animal veterinary resident speaker!

zeppelin and I just went to our first AEC!

we started off with a respectable dressage test, and xc was clear and so much fun even though it was a bit slow. unfortunately, we had a miscommunication early in sj that cut our last day short. while I wish I could be writing that we had a flawless weekend, I’m still so thankful to have been able to participate in AECs and ride at this incredible venue. more than that, I’m thankful that both zeppelin and I are alright, and we’ll both get back at it asap after he takes a well-deserved rest week. on friday, I went to a q&a event with @boydmartineventing. there, Boyd talked about how the hardest part of becoming exceptional at this sport is continuing even after bad days. this wasn’t our weekend, but trust that zeppelin and I will be back and better than ever soon :)

HH Boost and I had our first outing this weekend, jumping a few 2’11” rounds and cross country schooling. There is still a lot of learning to do between us but I am so excited to get to know Boost and see where we go!
Boost, what a privilege it is to be your partner! I have loved to see the different parts of your personality!

zeppelin and I’s second intercollegiate champs is in the books! he was incredible all weekend, and we had a lovely 32.3 in dressage, 2 unfortunate rails in sj, and just one second over optimum time on xc. huge thank you to my @auburneventing teammates, our current competition chair @jm_equestrian06, and @stephcounts485 for such an amazing champs experience 🧡💙 same time next year? #wardamneventing

While this wasn’t the champs on the vision board at the beginning of the season it was still such an incredible experience that I am so thankful for.
Bo came up with some neck issues in the last few months that we have been working through and then he had ad too much fun with his friends a few weeks ago in the pasture and that sealed the deal that he was not going to champs. With 2.5 weeks to champs and an entry and hotel already paid for but no horse I thought I was just going to be at champs as a supporter.
Then the incredible owners of Griffin offered him for me to take to champs. Before this I had never thrown a leg over him so it was time to really learn him and prep as well as I could with limited time.
I could not be more impressed with Griffin and honestly myself for putting all the pieces together quick enough to come out finishing on our dressage score this weekend.
While I would have loved to bring Bo and run him, the universe had other plans and I go an opportunity to learn more about myself as a rider and more about riding a different type of horse well enough to compete.
I cannot say it enough how thankful I am to Griffin’s owner for not only offering him but enthusiastically supporting me taking him!

S-P-I-R-I-T! Let’s hear it 📣

Almost as coveted as the champion title, the USEA Intercollegiate and IEL Spirit Award is given to the team that shows the most spirit, camaraderie, and positive nature throughout the weekend. Lots of factors go into making this decision and we are proud to share this year’s Spirit Award winners:

IEL: Silver Lining Equestrian Center 💙
Intercollegiate: UTK Eventing Team 🧡

We are so proud of all of you!
