Still trying to find the words for what this journey has meant to me.

✨I’m incredibly grateful to share that I graduated from the @yalepsych Yale University School of Medicine Department of Psychiatry Program for Recovery and Community Health’s Lived Experience Transformational Leadership Academy. 🧑🏻‍🎓

This experience challenged me, inspired me, and reminded me that lived experience has power. It deserves space in leadership, education, advocacy, and systems change.💜

💫 A huge thank you to my mentor, @mirandanewman , who believed in both me and my memoir from the very beginning. Your support, encouragement, and belief in my voice helped me continue dreaming bigger, even during moments of doubt.🥰

I’m also deeply thankful to @camhnews Centre for Addiction and Mental Health CLC for believing in my vision of creating a course for professionals focused on Borderline Personality Disorder. To see an idea rooted in lived experience be met with support, care, and possibility has been incredibly meaningful.

This graduation is more than an achievement. It represents healing, growth, community, and the reminder that our stories can create change. 🤍

A few weeks ago, I stepped into 30 — an age I once couldn’t imagine reaching. As I gently close the door on my 20s, I carry with me everything they taught me: my resilience, my courage, my voice, and the quiet strength I didn’t know I had.

I’ve walked through loss, grief, and old wounds. I’ve said goodbye to my best friend and furbaby Jacko, started new chapters in my career, and began the lifelong work of breaking cycles that were never meant to continue. Somehow, through all the turbulence, I found myself — my true friends, the love of my life, and a life that feels worth fighting for.

To those who held me up, believed in me, and taught me how to love… thank you.
And to the version of me who survived all the storms — I see you, and I’m grateful for you.

As I begin this new era, my hope is simple: to keep choosing life one day at a time. To honour my past without letting it define me. To keep growing, even through the hard days. And to trust that I’m surrounded by people — and a self — who will always cheer me on.

Here’s to 30. To softness, strength, and a future I once never thought I’d see. 🤍✨

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to our cherished Jacko, my best friend and eternal companion. Today, we chose to grant Jacko eternal rest, alleviating his suffering as he has alleviated mine. His boundless love has touched countless hearts, bringing smiles to all. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated and grieve alongside us.

Unsinkable in the city.

Feeling immense gratitude after spending the week with the @unsinkablestories team, partners and greater community in Toronto.

What a thrill to be surrounded by such passionate, creative and most of all deeply empathetic humans driven by a desire to harness the power of storytelling to cultivate community, amplify diverse voices and flip the script on how we talk about and support mental health.

On the last slide is a video of a butterfly that landed in front of me on a patio. It stayed put, looking at me for a good minute before fluttering away. While I don’t often believe in signs, this one felt like a reminder that I am where I am supposed to be 🦋
