Beading brings me peace🥰❤💜💛

${IFA 2024} last weekend was my second time taking part in the Indigenous Fashion Arts Marketplace and I always leave having learned so much. Most importantly, I am reminded of just how much I love this community. The people really make these spaces. The ones you’ve met online and finally connect with in person. The ones you only get to see because of events like this and you pick up right where you left off. And the ones you consider some of your close friends who make you feel held and make you laugh on those long days. The talent of all these artists is one thing (I mean wow) and getting to share that with community and a wider audience is amazing. But the heart, energy, care, and of course humour that comes out when we are together (and sharing noodles or staying up too late chatting and connecting) is what it’s all about. I feel so lucky to get to share space with so many amazing people, and to continue to meet more (like my wonderful booth neighbours). As a queer, Indigenous youth these moments fill my heart, especially kicking off National Indigenous History Month and Pride, what a great way to start it off 🌈 ♥️ Nia:wen to the @indigenousfashionarts team (including @sagepaul @itsmccue @amye_annett_werner and the wonderful volunteers- extra shout out to Kevin) for creating an opportunity for us to come together and share our art. See you soon ✨ P.S. I still have a few pairs up on my website if you missed out at the market! Click the link in my bio 🔗 🙌🏼$
