Had a lovely time this afternoon at @westendartspace at the opening of the Biennale of colour and light.
Some wonderful works with some talented female artists.
Particularly loved the work by @silvia_rotundo.

“I have been painting and drawing ever since I can remember. My artwork reflects the things in my life that inspire me: home as a place for love, laughter, music and art; cooking delicious food to bring friends and family together. The things we often take for granted. I like to create work that makes people happy.”

Joanie Girl! You couldn’t look any more at home if you tried. 💕

Filling a gap in my heart (and wall) that I didn’t even know existed (swipe to see what before Joanie I thought was a complete picture)

Utter perfection to come home to shining bright with her fluoro pals!

Hot off the press! Thrilled to share this sneak peek of our beautiful Logan House just in time for Easter celebrations.

A space designed for connection - where this elegant dining area and sleek bar will soon come alive with laughter, conversation, and the happy hum of family gatherings.

Natural timber, tan leather, vibrant artworks and contrasting black timber grain bar cabinetry create the perfect backdrop for making memories. We can already imagine Easter plates being passed, glasses clinking, and stories being shared around this beautiful table.

Human connection is at the heart of everything we design, and nothing makes us happier than creating spaces where those connections can flourish. Wishing our wonderful clients many joyful moments in this space over the Easter break and for years to come!

Art creates cohesion and delight in a space.

I designed this home with existing art placement in mind, always knowing that this @silvia_rotundo commission would hang here, long before we had walls or plasterboard in place.

Complementing the @polytec cabinetry colours in both the Kitchen (Oasis) and Laundry (Copper Leaf), this artwork allows the eye to flow effortlessly between these two spaces.

Plus I adore Silvia and her creative work, which makes it a piece with extra significance…(see my earlier post on my retro orange dining chairs)…making this piece a clear favourite in our home.

Design your life x

You know when you meet someone and you just click ✨ the stars align, the planets align, it’s very synchronistic ✨

I “met” the beautiful @silvia_rotundo on insta back in September 2021 (when we were mostly staying at home …) somehow I had found myself following her on insta - how could I not, her work is fabulous! - and I had just missed out on buying a painting of hers, but that communication led to an online friendship (and of course I later snapped up another gorgeous piece by her). We have been friends since then and very aligned and in tune with the same things - flowers being one of them!✨

Before my girls weekend started on Friday, Silvia and I met for the very first time face-to-face. No photos, just three hours of non-stop talking 🤭 … and lucky me - a beautiful surprise gift from the artist herself - a painting of a Magnolia from my garden that she had previously spotted on my insta 😍

So grateful for Silvia and those perfect moments in our lives where we instantly connect and act upon them … and as it turns out, share our love of flowers in different ways with others 🌸🌺🌼✨

*again, not many photos or videos from my girls weekend in Melbourne due to having too much fun! But will drop a couple of fun moments into my stories today 💃🏻

Yesterday we visited the @affordableartfairau and we were blown away by the talent of our local Aussie artists.

Today we thought we’d share some of our favourite projects where striking art pieces have adorned the walls and transformed the feel of the space.

Art is a wonderful way to story tell and add a feeling of soul to your home. For those reluctant to use colour or wallpaper on the walls, art will be your answer to livening up those white walls.

Enjoy a Sunday morning scroll through these images for some inspiration, and for those in Melbourne head to the exhibition buildings for the last day of the fair.

Bam 🌸
I’ve been dying to try this @silvia_rotundo painting above our mantel.
The colour of the inner petals of the flower on the right was one of the inspirations we had when deciding on what colour to paint the wall/mantel in the gallery this season 🍇
I love your work @silvia_rotundo 🩷 it’s so incredibly joyful. It’s exactly the antidote we need right now 👏🏼🙏🏼

EOFY is REALLY REALLY SOON. DO NOT DELAY in consulting your tax professional to determine if you are eligible for the 100% instant tax write off on artwork purchases 💯
