No screens. No boredom. Just kids making something with their hands.

Luciole Atelier is screen-free, ages 3 to 12 building, art, and games designed to stretch curiosity, not just burn time. And when it’s time to celebrate, Luciole Celebrations turns that same space into a birthday your kid will actually talk about after.

Coming soon to Jounieh Souks. ✨

Which one would your kid run to first art, building, or games?

From the HOME archive.

On the cover, Oscar-winning Lebanese composer Gabriel Yared reflected on his artistic journey and his desire to serve as a lighthouse for emerging talent. Having experienced the challenges of finding his own path, he understood the importance of supporting the next generation of artists. As he told HOME, “Whenever I get the chance to help Lebanese artists, in whatever way I can, I do it. I once was that person.”

From music to philosophy, Franciscos Verros, then Greek Ambassador to Lebanon, reflected on harmony as a central principle of ancient Greek thought, describing it as a way of bringing out the good in everyone rather than dividing the world into good and evil. Turning to political philosophy, he recalled that ancient Greece, particularly Athens, is often credited with inventing democracy, but that monarchy and aristocracy were also forms of government employed by the Greeks. Aristotle, he noted, favored what he described as “the rule of the best,” referring to a form of government whose name derives from the Greek words aristos (ἄριστος, “best”) and kratos (κράτος, “power”). Returning to the importance of harmony, Verros observed that its disruption meant the loss of happiness, a philosophical idea he connected to Greek tragedy.

Turning to gastronomy, three-Michelin-star chef Christophe Bacquié advocated a more human and sustainable approach to food. He encouraged Lebanese chefs to build personal relationships across the entire food chain, from farmers and fishermen to waiters, rather than rely on anonymous supply systems. His philosophy was clear: “We need to anchor ourselves in the local.”

The foundations of HOMEland were already there: musical excellence, mentorship and giving back, philosophical curiosity, Mediterranean cultural perspectives and gastronomy as an art form.
