I’ve spoken for years about resolutions. They’re not a bad idea, but a part has always been missing: the standards underneath them.
Most of us never chose our standards. We inherited them, absorbed them, or agreed to them in a season that’s already over. And a resolution won’t last on a standard that isn’t yours.

HOW TO LISTEN TO GOD | Part 2: His Word First

The clearest way God speaks is through what He has already spoken. 📖

Scripture isn't just information about God; it is His living voice to us today. Before you open your Bible, pray a simple prayer: "Lord, speak to me. I'm listening."

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." (Proverbs 3:5–6)

We don't have to figure everything out on our own. When we bring God into every decision, He directs our paths.

Challenge: memorise one verse this week. Scripture written on the tablet of your heart becomes the voice that steadies you when every other voice gets loud.

HOW TO LISTEN TO GOD | Part 1: Two-Way Conversation

Have you ever prayed like someone at the doctor's who lists every ache and pain, then leaves before the doctor says a word? 🩺

Prayer was never meant to be a monologue. Between the notifications, news feeds, opinions and our own fears, there are countless voices competing for our attention. But Jesus says, "My sheep hear My voice" (John 10:27).

Try something different: when you pray, leave space. Sit still. Keep a notebook close and write down what comes to mind as you wait on Him, then test it against Scripture.

The God who hears you is also the God who speaks to you.

This Psalm says the entrance gives light — not the mastery of the word, nor the debate of it. Light is released at the doorway, and it is given to the simple: the heart with no bolt on the door.
Abraham had no Scripture and no precedent, only a voice — "Get out of your country… to a land that I will show you." The word entered, and "Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him." He walked in light while the map stayed folded in God's hand.
His simplicity was not ignorance but singleness. He saw the dead body and the barren womb, yet weighed the word heavier; at the hardest command he "rose early in the morning."
The light we lack waits at an entrance we have not opened. Whatever word God gives us, Ours is to obey. Let the word in plainly. #cognize

The kingdom of God goes far beyond outward appearances or religious routines. It is not defined by what we eat or drink, but by a transformed life marked by righteousness, peace, and joy through the Holy Spirit. These are the true signs of God at work within us.

Verse 18 reminds us that when we serve Christ in these ways—living righteously, pursuing peace, and walking in joy—we become acceptable to God. Our lives begin to align with His will, reflecting His character in a world that desperately needs it.

Not only does this please God, but it also earns the respect of others. A life genuinely surrendered to Christ becomes a powerful testimony, drawing people toward His love and truth.
