Reflections 🤍 Sometimes our experiences can stay with us in ways that are difficult to put into words.

I often notice in my work how emotional distress can sometimes show itself physically too, through things like tension, headaches, hives or skin flare-ups.

Sometimes the body gives us clues that something needs a little more care and attention…🤍

A really thoughtful read around this is Bessel van der Kolk’s The Body Keeps the Score. Featuring a beautiful sculpture by @simon.bacon

Yesterday on the PR set of #bookish with P is for Printing on display as part of the set… #panterandhall where I sell my work, have rented their Cecil Court gallery to #uandalibi to promote the second series of ‘Bookish’, a crime drama set in a post-WW2 London bookshop. I had the pleasure of meeting #markgatiss and Connor Finch together with a host of actors in true ‘Bookish’ character! I’ve binge watched the first series of this quintessentially British drama and looking forward to the second, released last night. If you like a period drama with all the sumptuous trappings of costume and props that go with it, I’m sure you will enjoy it too. #bookart

We love lighting up #richmonduponthames with our artists beautiful work ❤️Simon Bacon’s @simon.bacon fantastic new sculptures’Relational Forms’ now available @noonpowellfineart . We adore them. In the window : ‘Earth’ and ‘Core’ - “Less about the object and more about feeling; how light passes through, how shadows settle, how colour shifts”, says Simon Bacon. They sit so beautifully with @walterknabe’s soul stirring ‘Aurora Luminescence’ mixed-media on canvas. #noonpowellfineart #artforcollectors #contemporaryart #contemporarysculpture

SIMON BACON

Earth Form - No. 1/15
Painted steel
10 × 10 x 37 cm

One of the first pieces in a new series of work - ‘Relational Forms’.

The Form grows out of earlier sculptural work by Simon Bacon @simon.bacon gradually distilled, moving toward restraint, balance and attention.
Colour used sparingly, not to decorate, but to hold stillness, mark subtle shifts in balance.
Rooted, upright, and quietly attentive, it reflects Bacon’s continuing interest in the body as a presence, felt through alignment and structure.

Showing this exciting new direction in Simon Bacon’s sculpture practice @noonpowellfineart #london #richmonduponthames #sculpturelovers #circleoflife #noonpowellfineart

Looking forward to getting back to some sculpture making in the coming weeks.

Expanding ideas of body as the site of meaning, presence, perception, encounter, and how it holds itself in space. Moving from a figurative position to more abstract.

Website updated, please take a look if you have a moment. 🙏
