Unforgettable experience to travel down to Texas with @commontablecreative this past spring and highlight these incredible farmers. No better feeling than being in the fields and learning about the future of food and sustainability from those who make it happen every day.

#ClimateWeekNYC: If we want to improve the health of our nation, we must first improve the food system that feeds it… This can only be tackled through collaboration amongst leaders in government, business and the nonprofit sector to drive solutions forward.

The conversations held during Climate Week attempt to do just that. We must:
- Regenerate our soil
- Steward our seas
- Expand access to nutrient dense foods
- Inspire the next generation to participate, both as informed consumers and future producers.

Truly grateful to the incredible team @FoodTank for their tireless work bringing together a stellar lineup of speakers to exchange ideas and drive meaningful change, with support from @AmericanFarmlandTrust @RodaleInstitute @SproutsFND Healthy Communities Foundation, among many others.

A special shout out to friends @chefaz, @chefjohannahellrigl, @oliver_english and @marcuscooks for lending your voices to such important discussions.

Our oceans are equally vital. Thank you to @Jen_Bushman for including me in the #LivingTableOceansDinner, alongside @LonelyWhale , @FedbyBlue , @TheShipwrightsDaughter and @Planet.Haus . It was a very special evening focused on building a more ethical, sustainable and resilient future for our oceans and seafood supply.

And perhaps the best part of Climate Week was celebrating the 90th birthday of @MarionNestle , the OG of food policy reform in America and someone I’m honored to call a friend. For more than four decades, the @NYUFoodLab Professor Emerita has researched, taught and advocated for a healthier, more transparent food system. Now, with her 16th book, #SugarCoated, she’s taking on the multibillion dollar cereal industry and still pushing the conversation forward.

“Growing food for my community is bigger than me,” shared Daphne Bicaise of @daphodillfarm in Magnolia, Texas.

Born in the Republic of Congo, Daphne moved to the US as a refugee with her family from Côte d'Ivoire at 15. Growing up, food was a natural part of Daphne’s daily life. It was how her parents ensured she could attend school in a community where girls' education wasn't always prioritized.

Now, she farms a 1-acre plot, offering her produce at farmers markets and through CSA boxes.

Daphne received a Brighter Future Fund grant from American Farmland Trust, which helped her purchase things like fertilizer and compost, achieving marketable produce more quickly.

Watch her inspiring story. ✨
