Rose Bowl Half Marathon ✔️ (Year 5) My goal was to enjoy the run and collect some medals as I am fully in tune with my body and current fitness levels… So that’s what we did… Took the hills up nice and easy and then kicked it up a notch down the hills. I also walked when I felt like I needed to catch my breath (something I typically avoid during a half). With one mile left- and seeing that it was downhill- I looked at my watch and thought “if I can gave it my all right now- I could sub 2.” And so I did- landing me with a course PR and my first sub 2 (1:59:44) on this course. TBH- I have had many moments of sadness and frustration over the last couple years- where my mind wants something that my body can’t deliver. At the end of the day- I am grateful that I can still run, I can still show up, have a good time, earn some bling, AND PR a challenging course! Thank you to everyone who cheered for me… I appreciated the cheers so much… really needed them! Thank you run fam (@323raysglist818, @_donutmonster, and @barktheshark) for the running pics/video. Love seeing all the race recaps- so many PR’s. All that hard work is paying off and I’m feeling so inspired! On Thursday- I have an appointment for a PRP injection in my glute/hamsring… Really hope it works so I can keep training… For now- I plan on taking 1-2 weeks off of running to rest and recover! This one is for you, Baba Joon- my ex-father-in-law- who passed away last night… May he rest in peace. Sadly, the revolution in Iran changed the trajectory of my ex-families life… Baba Joon stayed in Iran to practice cardiology while his boys and wife moved to the US for a better life. Luckily for us, he was able to spend the final years of his life in California- surrounded by his loved ones. 🙏🏼 Singlet: “Love All” by @runinrabbit Hat: @runinrabbit Shorts: @forthe.run (DC: FTR-lenarunsformedals Sunglasses: @goodr (Free shipping: LENAB) Headphones: @shokzusa (DC: Runningisfun) Year 1: 2:23:28 Year 2: 2:10:43 Year 3: 3:38:58 Year 4: 2:02:51 Year 5: 1:59:44 Free Palestine, Free Iran, #keepshowingup #radrabbit #thegroundcrew, #goodrflamboyance, #shokzstar

Run Malibu Half + Virtual 5K ✔️ @runmalibu A gorgeous half marathon course on a rainy weekend in SoCal… Definitely recommend! No PR’s were made but proud of the effort- especially since it was only 2 weeks after the NYC Marathon and I didn’t feel fully recovered. While I couldn’t PR (proved my @garmin and @strava predictions wrong… AGAIN)… I was shocked to learn that I had placed 3rd in my age group. I was already on the bus and by the time I was able to pull up my results- the doors had closed and the bus was ready to roll. I urgently asked to get off- must have been so annoying to the other runners and embarrassing for me but I just had to collect my award! The 5K was canceled due to flooding but some friends and I still showed up on Saturday morning and grabbed some breakfast before heading to the expo where we collected our race packets and medals. Ran my “virtual” 5K that evening… This was my 4th race of the @goldenstaterunseries and the last half marathon for the year. We did it… 4 years of completing this challenge ✔️! Fit: Jacket by @thenorthface (wore it the whole run) Long sleeve by @tracksmithrunning (LA Marathon edition) Shorts by @forthe.run (Veero Dasher 4”) Shoes by @hoka- Cielo X1 1.0 (way better than the 2.0’s so I’ve been saving them cause I can’t find them anywhere) I was soaking wet by the end of it even though it was mostly just light sprinkles. #freepalestine #freetheworldfromevil #keepshowingup #progressoverperfection #dontgiveup #keepgoing #goodrflamboyance #fortherungroundcrew

Post intervals smiles 😁✌ This is where I spend most of my time, absorbing comments and tips from my coaches, carefully taking notes, and then diving into the hard work. I strive to apply every detail at high speed, aiming to hit the paces set by my coaches.
