ONSLAUGHT (2026) — A BLOODY RIDE OF CHAOS, SURVIVAL & PURE ADRENALINE. 📈 Onslaught is a gritty action-horror thriller that brings back the raw spirit of old-school B-movies, mixing brutal violence, military experiments, and relentless survival into one explosive ride. When genetically engineered super-soldiers turn into unstoppable killing machines, a former Army sniper must unleash her deadly instincts to protect her daughter. Adria Arjona commands the screen as Celeste, delivering the toughness and intensity needed to face an enemy that refuses to stop. With masked killers, striking visuals, bloody confrontations, and a sinister atmosphere, the film embraces its grindhouse roots while paying tribute to classic action-horror cinema. 🎬 Directed by Adam Wingard, Onslaught has style, attitude, and flashes of ferocious entertainment. Although its story and pacing don't always reach the same heights as its ambitious premise, the film still offers a pulpy throwback for fans of violent thrillers and old-school cinematic mayhem. 💀 VERDICT: A stylish, blood-soaked action-horror experience with a fierce lead performance—but one that promises more chaos than it ultimately delivers. When the monsters are made by humans, survival becomes the ultimate act of war. #onslaught

“Now that I live in the sticks, nothing was sweet when I watched Blair Witch this time around. I had no urban distractions to take the edge off. As I sat down to prep for this essay, I realized I was procrastinating…  so I wouldn’t have to hit play. This time, I was fully aware of the pitch-black woods at my back… For me, the proximity of this 21st-century myth and its faux-realism usurp any kind of argument about whether Blair Witch was an elevated horror movie. I peer out into my backyard or hear the leaves scraping across the concrete under my window, and Blair Witch feels real to me.” 10 years ago today, Blair Witch (2016) hit theaters. Critics and fans had largely mixed feelings about this Blair Witch Project requel. Staff writer and lifelong Marylander Caroline Colvin revisits the second installment of the Blair Witch story. (We say second because no one wants to acknowledge Book of Shadows, apparently!)

BAD Foundation Member - The National Grid (TNG) is a multiple award-winning creative thinking and design company that’s been based in Brookvale for nearly two decades Established in 2006 by @laraallport and co-founder @simonbarrett, they’ve been delivering results and winning awards in the branding, marketing, design and illustration worlds ever since TNG has provided design expertise for a wide range of businesses including Apple, CommSec, Aqualand, EG Funds, Patron, Coca-Cola, Intel, Philips, Samsung and Westpac plus many more…with everything from brand identity, illustration and advertising to app design, socials and content creation Lara’s roles involve contributing to and overseeing the creative process as well as business development, management and administration, which is why they call her ‘boss lady’ As a business owner and mother of two boys, Lara doesn't have a great deal of free time, but when she does, she enjoys painting and has exhibited her work in Australia, Miami, Detroit, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Lara is Vice President of BAD and when asked why she loves Brookvale: ‘TNG has been an anchor tenant in Brookvale over the past two decades and I’ve watched this beautiful suburb emerge from a grungy industrial district, known more for its brothels and smash repair shops, to a place of cutting-edge engineering and innovation, fashion houses, galleries, ceramics workshops, breweries, distilleries, a night club and an awesome music scene Having been here for so long, I’ve very much become a custodian of this community and have met some of the most incredible people here over the years. I would love to see Brookvale continue its trajectory of awesomeness, and not suffer the displacement that’s happened in Dee Why There are ways to allow for much needed residential, whilst protecting and enhancing the industrial and cultural fabric of Brookvale … and I will do all that I can to help make his happen Brookvale has the potential to become a global example of urban renewal – done right – whilst maintaining it's cultural, industrial, innovation and creative history’ #design #branding #illustration #brookvale #brookvaleartsdistrict
