I never thought it was possible to root for someone else’s success, happiness, and growth more than my own.
I became a professor just a few months after becoming a mother; both experiences are deeply intertwined in my journey as an educator.

There’s a mothering feeling in all my teaching. I’m not sure if it’s right or wrong, but I can’t hold back my ‘big Latina mama’ vibe. This year, I couldn’t have a better Mother’s Day gift than graduating my first BFA class at UTC. I am so proud of each one of them!

Lydia, Maddie, and Kinsey, thank you for the morning coffees and for making me feel welcomed each morning <3 To my students: thank you for giving me the honor of working with you; you eased many hard times - especially when we lost our special Jaye- and made each day better.

I will miss you all and will always be here for you!

My last issue with strike is all done! I couldn’t be more grateful to this team. This issue has felt so special and magical because of y’all. I’m so happy I got to be a part of admin especially with Simone, Deja, and Kat. Can’t wait to see what is next for these insanely talented artists. Thank you for the love and memories!
