Happy (?) almost one year anniversary of not posting on here! Where does the time go when you're busy? Many projects have come and gone and I always say I will go back to take pictures, but who has that kind of time? Oh, yes, I also have a child now, that is definitely one of the factors. Here is a project that was completed in April for @simoneferkul , pushing my fabrication skills to their limits with this white oak split waterfall coffee table, and a custom walnut ATTIC stool. . Currently moving shop and excited to see where this journey takes us next. Photos of the new space, and machinery, to come.

Designed by boutique practice Simone Ferkul Projects, the wellness studio explores a quiet tension between softness and strength, using material, light, and form to guide the body through an immersive physical and sensory journey. The entrance sequence establishes a deliberate slowing of pace from the urban environment outside. Anchored by a carved ceiling skylight that draws natural light deep into the floor plan, the reception features soft, curvaceous ceiling forms and a monolithic desk. Softly illuminated niches integrated into custom millwork blur the boundaries between retail, storage, and circulation to maintain an uncluttered aesthetic. The interior adapts specifically to the distinct demands of each fitness discipline. The Reformer Pilates studio opens as a light-filled space framed by expansive perimeter windows that encourage focus and precision. In contrast, the hot yoga "Sun Room" seamlessly integrates infrared heating panels within a articulated ceiling, enveloping practitioners in controlled, organic warmth. The studio utilizes a restrained palette of sun-washed neutrals, rift-cut oak millwork, printed quartz, and soft-focus lighting. Extending into the change rooms, integrated vanities and warm wood tones create a spa-like atmosphere, treating moments of preparation and post-workout recovery with the same architectural importance as the athletic movement itself. A skylight in a Toronto yoga studio does more than bring in light. It sets the pace of the space.
