I’m excited to share with you an upcoming exhibition, Criw Celf | o’r caeau // from the fields - a culmination of young artist’s work who participated in this years Criw Celf workshops with @oriel_myrddin

For the past year I’ve been planning and coordinating the workshops in my homeland of Sir Gaerfyrddin. It’s been an incredible experience to get to know the young artists and see them be inspired and watch their creativity grow. One thing that has strongly fed into this work was not only the sharing of creative practice between artists and young people but also our ability to connect with the landscape, to consider our place differently, and observe a working land that’s in the process of being regenerated to be more sustainable, inclusive to humans and more supportive of the environment and biodiversity. Creative inspiration really is everywhere, even in the fields.

The show will open this weekend on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 June,
11:00 – 16:00, at Parc yr Esgob/ Bishop’s Park, Abergwili.

Many thanks to the following artists for sharing their expertise // Diolch yn fawr i'r artistiaid canlynol am rannu eu harbenigedd:

Thursday night’s launch was amazing and I’d like to thank all that came to support us… but before we share images of the evening I wanted to thank everyone that has helped us behind the scenes….

I know how much these exhibitions at the hall are loved and appreciated by all that visit. The set up takes us about three weeks. It was wonderful to be able to share the process with Megan Evans @curadwr who has been by my side throughout the process- visiting artists at their studios, receiving the work in from all the artists and makers, cleaning, lifting carrying, making coffee, typing and chopping labels, and the nice bit… curating the show. Thank you Meg… the hard work done we can now enjoy presenting the work stunning works over the next two weeks.
Also huge thanks to the following for helping us make this happen
Richard and Liam for the set up, Ryan and Stephen for the electrics, Morgan for the exterior clean of the building, Andrew for fixing the locks, Ben for fitting the taps… this old building needs constant care and attention.
Thanks you to Jess and Mel for the finishing touches with the plants and foliage displays, to Kevin and Caroline at the framers. Tim and Betsan Bowen for the beautiful Welsh Antiques that help set the scene.
Thanks to Scott, Lauren and Aisha at Coal town for the delicious espresso martinis and Pitchfork Provisions for the tasty ember cake.
Thank you teamtastic Alison and Sarah who served wine and soft drinks with such joy…And thanks to mum for all your support and chores dashing back and fore to the framers, post office etc!! And thank to my husband Tony for your support and carpentry skills…and the spectacular chicken curry you cooked last night. Xx.

Now that we’re half way through this beautiful exhibition we’ve had a lovely opportunity to play with some new pieces from Jonathan Cox ready for the weekend.
An opportunity for people who’ve already visited to play spot the difference.
If you haven’t been yet, we’ve got 9 days left of this beautiful exhibition. We’re right next door to Aberglasney Gardens and open daily from 11-6pm.

Looking forward to seeing you.
Edrychwn ymlaen i’ch gweld.
