Musician in Dallas TX

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This was one of the sessions for "when nature was a thing". @simonsezbrass @evanweissmusic and @kalescherler are decorated, world-class players who nevertheless let me torture them in order to get the sound the lyrics needed (for my part, I waited to record the vocals until I was very ill). There were takes where they had to play as high as possible, as low as possible, with as few breaths as possible, and one where the trombone plays super high and the trumpets super low. I know that it was a physical ordeal, and I am forever grateful to these men.

The song is about how trauma can be required to bring an addict to repentance. It is a parade in honor of a person who has FINALLY changed, but is far too injured to enjoy it (as with each song, the album's cover and ironic title fit perfectly).

Btw, I have LOTS of videos from writing and recording. Let me know if you want to see more.

Residents at Appletree Court Assisted Living recently enjoyed a wonderful musical performance by the Simon Sez Brass Trio.

Their lively brass sounds filled the room with energy, bringing smiles, toe-tapping, and plenty of enjoyment to everyone.

It was an honor performing with these gentlemen this evening. What a fun time putting together Mozart’s Requiem the last few days! Bravi tutti!

Yesterday was my 8th anniversary at OrangeTheory Fitness. Over 1700 classes, and 1,300,913 calories burned so far. In 8 years, I cut my mile run time in half, and knocked 6 minutes off my best 5K. Blah blah blah. The point is…our health is very important to ourselves and others! Last Sunday at the T. Skorman Productions 40th Anniversary in Entertainment Party, my friend Ted Skorman said something like this during his speech: “A healthy person has a thousand dreams, a sick person has only one.” I believe Confucius said it first. Thanks for the reminder, Ted…and thank you to ALL my coaches and fellow members, past and present. You have all played a big part. 🙏🏽❤️🍊💪🏽💪🏽

Celebrating 35 years! AWARE held its November education meeting and luncheon at @touchmarkmckinney and featured Maria Vallejo from the @planosymphony speaking on Healing Notes, the benefits of music therapy and a live performance by members of @simonsezbrass , who often perform with the Plano Symphony and other groups around North Texas.

Everyone was singing along, clapping hands - it was a wonderful, happy day!

Wesley Helms, executive director of @touchmarkmckinney Touchmark at Emerald Lake, spoke about the new happenings at the venue, additional facilities are in the works, and all of the available amenities and activities in the Touchmark community.

Erin Dougherty from the Center for Vital Longevity, gave updates followed by Audette Rackley from the @centerforbrainhealth, who gave everyone a copy of their new booklet, a Guide to Proactive Steps, a resource for those affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementias, funded by a grant from AWARE.

Join us for our next meeting on March 12, 2025 at the Center for Brain Health featuring Speaker/Topic: Steve Benton, The Senior Source “Elder Frauds, Scams and Financial Exploitation” Lunch served.
