'Star Girl' live in my music room. This is the first track from our new LP 'Living in Nowhere,' which turns 1 month and 1 week old today 🥂🎈🎁

I went a little crazy with my VHS-C camcorder and RCA video mixer while recording this. Thank y'all for your attention 🙏

Mississippian Rod Smoth is coming through Birmingham this Wednesday, so we spent some time with his most recent single, “Adding.”

His distinct phrasing, sonic textures, and sense of melody make the tune more than a folky after-thought. It’s something special.

Catch him at Seasick on Wednesday and check out the full album, “Living in Nowhere,” this Friday.

Full write up in bio.

Thank you all for listening to adding! The response has been meaningful. We are excited and ready to release LIVING IN NOWHERE in less than 3 wks🫨 This album has been a long time coming, and, while at times dispiriting, I am thankful for every step of the convoluted process.
Life has changed and changed again over the years of working on this album. My focus has drifted, and been forcibly redirected, to other things. My perspective shifted, as it tends to do when time passes. I am thankful for the kaleidoscope of meaning that songs like this one can only take on through time and work. Massive thank you to the genius @almathecat for being there through varying levels of focus and clarity and always believing in my songs.

I recorded myself playing this electric-guitar/synthesizer version of ‘Adding’ this weekend at home. Full video is on yt. Thanks :)
