Today I spent some time looking through my Halloween crafty bins 🎃 I just wanted to remind myself of all the goodies I have 😅 I also made my @motermofficial mini happy planner ready for October, I’ll share photos later 🧡 I’m thinking about making a small October Daily just so I can play with all these supplies- if I do I think I’m going to use the orange binder in the last photo 🧡 Anyone else playing with Halloween crafty supplies this weekend? Spent some time today on my off period working through the ‘Freedom with Food’ course from @adhd.dietitian 🖊️ I love that my new @kaweco.germany pen matches my beautiful bracelet from @quirkynookjewelry 🧡 You get a sneak peek at one of my ‘new’ @cloth_and_paper clear tn covers, that I picked up from @hebaalsibai , set ups 🧡 This one has a clip, ephemera and crocheted granny square all from @simpleoctober adorning the front cover 🧡 You’ll see a @christyhappyplans sticker on my notes page- I cannot get enough of her stickers! 🧡#craftychick #personalimprovement

I started planning when I was in the first grade. My teacher gave me a paper planner to me to help me manage my newly diagnosed OCD. (The real one, no offense. But if you know, you know.)

Anyhoo, it was square, navy blue, and said 1985 on the cover. (Stop mathing!) Immediately I was covering my new paper planner with markers, colored pencils doodles and of course, stickers! I collected stickers even before then. That was back when we used to collect stickers and then put them in our “Sticker Books” which usually was a decorated rainbow stack of construction paper tied together with ribbon. I had SOOO MANY sticker books filled with Lisa Frank, scratch and sniff, puffy unicorns, Rainbow Brite, shiny foil stars, and my beloved Strawberry Shortcake.

Over the years I spent a lot of time hiding my decorative planning from others because NOBODY outside of my closest understood it and everyone called it childish. My grandmother and I had a shared love of office supplies and would spend hours walking through office supply stores or the Kmart office supply aisle. Back to school season was our favorite.

As an adult, I continued planning. Toying with digital planning for a bit. Anyone else have a Handspring??? 🤣 I always kept a paper planner, even if it was only a notebook with doodles and colored pens. I always needed that tactile paper and pen touch.

After my second baby was born, I was reading one of the blogs I followed closely (really dating myself with this post 🤦‍♀️) by Toni Hammersley, A Bowl Full of Lemons. She mentioned paper planning. Inquiring if anyone had ever been interested in paper planning and if anyone else wanted to join a group she was going to start on Facebook where we could chat and discuss all things planner related. And then Planner Addicts was born. (This is NOT the Planner Addicts group that is available on Facebook today.)

I have been loving my mini @the_happy_planner discs covers from @motermofficial so I thought I’d try one for my work planner that is classic discs and I love it ❤️ I have a lesson plan @the_happy_planner that’s the larger size, but I also use a dashboard layout classic size @the_happy_planner to keep track of all the to do’s, meetings, etc. I need to get better about writing everything down and when my planners inspire me I’m more likely to use them- at least that’s what I tell myself 😅🤞🏻 I also have SO many adorable school themed goodies mostly from @simpleoctober that I don’t get to use and enjoy enough 🍎 I started setting it up today and so far I’m loving it! I need a cute but functional pen to keep in the pen loop 😂 I went with the green color figuring it would be a nice accent with all my school themed accessories and one of our school colors is green- not this green but still green 🍎 I wore my pencil ring and bracelet today 🍎#teacherlife #happyplanner #tryingtobeaplannergirl

I cut into some sweet fabrics and made fat 1/8th packs for my shop. I also finally (finally) started my journal, after talking about it and thinking about it all for far too long. It was just joyful to put glue, fabric, and found objects to use. I’m hooked. #joy #junkjournal #fabricpack And check out the sweet name card made by @simpleoctober 🥰

Having my desk cleaned off is helping my crafty mojo SO much!! I’ve spent hours at my desk since I cleaned it and been working on multiple of my crafty projects 🩷 I even finished another unfinished project!!! I’ll share it soon 🩷 I’m so glad I prioritized this for myself 🥰 Too bad cleanliness isn’t contagious- it would be awesome if the rest of my craft room caught the cleanliness bug and cleaned itself 🤣🤣🤣 #craftychick #cleancraftdesk #memoryplanner #craftygirlyearbook

Here is one of my @motermofficial set ups 🩷 this one is an A8 ring binder and it’s much smaller than anything I typically use, but I couldn’t resist trying it after I started following @christyhappyplans 🩷 I immediately fell in love with her set-ups and style. I’m not gonna lie, it took me a couple months to really begin using this. As with many new items I purchase- I get stuck worried about perfectionism. I finally took some time to set it up and then it still took me more time to decide how to use it and to begin. I’m currently using it to keep track of things I need/should/want to do for my health and well being. I’m also jotting down little notes about my health as needed. I’m keeping it simple. I’m enjoying using it as a little habit tracker for now, but I have no major expectations and I may decide to use it for something else in the future. I’m keeping it in this adorable pouch and bag both from @simpleoctober 🩷 I love them both and hadn’t used them yet and one of my goals is to use all the cute things I have and love them 🩷 of course I added one of my cute @cureplanetaglobal baby three bunny 🩷 Do you buy things because you love how someone else uses it and then struggle to make it your own and use it? #craftychick #journalgirl #moterm

Goodbye June…Hello July ❤️🤍💙
I’m keeping with having a theme for each month- at least with my daily check in journal. I didn’t end up having much of a theme for June, it was just ‘summer’. I used this M summer feeling pouch from @megan_ballarini and this cute #sanrio summer feeling cover from @sewwhatelseisnew 🩷 I didn’t get too much into June’s theme partly because I have a lot of summer themed stuff, but not really washi or stickers and also because June has been spent with a lot of slow, recovery days from mono and sickness from a medication I’m thankfully no longer taking- so I kept things simple. For July I’m keeping things simple and using red, white and blue like I actually did last summer. These are not my go to colors but I have a whole collection of things that are and that I ain’t use often, so this gives them a chance to come out to play like my beautiful red, white and blue clips from @simpleoctober ❤️🤍💙

Just start….. I’ve had this #tn for a few months now and I’ve been getting it decorated and set up just right and then…..nothing! I get stuck in my own head about what I should write, it needs to be ‘special’ or ‘perfect’ and this is why I buy lots of journals, tns, and planners and end up not using them. I want to use them, love them like I see other people doing! So yesterday when I had an amazing handmade ephemera along with a sweet hand written note from @simpleoctober (as she always includes in her packages ☺️) and my first @nettleandtwig printables I decided to JUST START 🩷 I’m trying really hard to use my goodies, create journaling and creative habits and just live the creative life I’m always dreaming about ☺️ I’ll share the whole tn soon 🩷 #craftychick #travelerscompanynotebook #journal #useyourstationery

It’s the last day of May and I’ve still been loving using all my #starwars goodies for my daily check in journal 💚 I have missed some days but I am ok with that- it’s not about perfection it’s about progress 💚 I sat and read through all of my entries the other day and I noticed some common themes- leading me to decide I’m on the right path of some of the changes I’m looking to make and habits and routines I’m trying to build 💚 I also noticed that my bubble lettering has improved 🥳 which makes me happy 😃 For a little real life scroll to the last photo to see what happens when you leave your chai tea latte unattended for a minute before you sit down to journal with a house full of cats 😹 Happy Sunday 💚 #craftychick #journal #dailycheckinjournal
