WEEK 17 // IRONMAN FLORIDA PREP✅

This week was really focused on running volume and some key workouts. Dialing in my IM race pace effort during a long 10 mile track workout + a very monotonous 20 miles on the treadmill yesterday.

Ironman training has many ups and downs. Some days you feel great, while other days you feel like you’ve made minimal progress. But if I can perform well on the days I’m fatigued and have no energy- I know I’ll be ready for race day when I toe the line.

Building durability week after week. It’s almost that time!

WEEK 16 // IRONMAN FLORIDA PREP✅

-34 miles of running
-11,200+ yds of swimming
-146 miles of cycling

A bit of a lighter week in terms of volume but some big wins:
-I had my longest bike ride this week (107 miles)
-Longest and best swim in terms of confidence
-Massive jump in my FTP (held 380 watts for a full minute) and set a new FTP of 287. 📈big PR

We’re dialing in nutrition / fitness + getting some better data along the way.

You gotta want it!!

Full day of training for my first Ironman (7 hr training day).

Longest bike ride I’ve ever done and hit some marathon paces on my brick run post 107 miles. 🧱📈

It’s crazy how you can make so much progress on the bike when you hit quality sessions + stack volume. Just a few months ago I did my first century ride and never wanted to do it again.

Now I’m consistently hitting 80-100 miles every weekend on the bike. Consistency is paying off. Plus it helps when you consume 125-150 g of carbs per hour and copious amounts of caffeine.🙏

Currently 6 weeks out from Florida.

If you’re thinking about signing up for an Ironman… read through these slides so you know what to expect.

I’ve been getting asked a lot about my Ironman training and how it feels to put my body through so much training. So here are some things I’ve learned as a beginner in the sport.

This is just a general overview of some of the main points but wanted to share with y’all. Enjoy💪

WEEK 14 // IRONMAN FLORIDA PREP✅

21 hour week / 200 miles (biggest week of training so far)📈

-38 miles of running
-156 miles of cycling
-3.5hrs of training + recovery
-11,400 yds of swimming (biggest week in swimming)

I still have some things to improve on and need to continue to make some progress on the bike and swimming (especially open water), but I’m proud of the progress so far.

1 John 5:14–15 “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us… we know that we have what we asked of him.”

I’m so grateful to have a God that hears and answers prayers abundantly. And I’m go grateful for friends like @sammccatx who are obedient to the call and are generous to others who need it.
