More space, organized photos, and memories our client can actually find 📸✨

One of my personal favorite jobs is working one on one with clients.

Over two four-hour sessions, I worked one-on-one with this client to turn her collection into neatly organized, labeled photo boxes—freeing up valuable storage space along the way!

Now, when she’s looking for a particular picture, she knows where to look ❤️

If your photos are taking up space and you don’t know where to start, we can work through them together

Message here or at Simplify Buffalo Photo Organizing to get started.

Give the gift of memories this upcoming holiday season.

A custom photo book, memory box, or photo video turns treasured family moments into a gift they’ll cherish for years. ❤️

We’re taking holiday orders now, and only a few project slots remain!

📩 Message us to reserve your spot and tell us what you have in mind.

7 professional organizers.
3+ unforgettable days in Charleston. 💕

Toronto, Richmond, Buffalo, St. Louis, Tampa & Columbus…all coming together for more than just a girls’ trip.

We shared real ideas, honest conversations, and practical strategies to help each other grow our businesses as a whole. We laughed A LOT, shed a few tears, and collected more than a few inside jokes along the way. 😂

But the best part? Strengthening friendships, building new connections, and being surrounded by women who truly understand the world of entrepreneurship.

Grateful for the memories, the lessons, the laughter, and this incredible community of professional organizers. ✨

Already counting down until the next one!

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #7
THE BEST TIME TO SAVE YOUR PHOTOS IS BEFORE SOMETHING HAPPENS.

We always think we’ll get around to it.

Someday we’ll organize the boxes.

Someday we’ll download the pictures from the old computer.

Someday we’ll figure out what’s on those old USB drives.

Someday we’ll ask Mom who’s in those photographs.

And then sometimes…someday becomes too late.

A flooded basement.
A failed computer.
A lost phone.
A damaged photograph.

Or the person who knew all of those family stories is no longer here to tell them.

You don’t have to organize everything today.

But during Save Your Photos Month, do one thing.

Back something up.
Label an old photograph.
Ask someone a question.
Pull one box off the shelf.

Start.

Your family’s memories are worth saving. ❤️

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #6
SCANNING YOUR PHOTOS ISN’T THE SAME AS ORGANIZING THEM.

This is a BIG one.

You can scan 5,000 photographs…
…and end up with 5,000 digital photographs you still can’t find.

Digitizing is an important part of preservation.

But a truly organized collection goes further.

It means creating a logical structure.

Identifying what’s important. Dealing with duplicates. Bringing together photographs scattered across phones, computers, old CDs, USB drives, camera cards and boxes.

The goal isn’t simply to have your photographs “somewhere.”

The goal is to be able to find them, enjoy them and share them.

That’s the difference between digitizing your memories and actually preserving your family’s story. ❤️

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #5
DON’T TRY TO ORGANIZE 30 YEARS OF PHOTOS IN ONE WEEKEND. 😂

This may be my favorite tip.

When people look at boxes and boxes of photographs, the first reaction is usually:
“I don’t even know where to start.”

So don’t start with all of it.

Start with ONE box.
One drawer.
One album.
Even 30 minutes.

You don’t have to finish your entire family’s photo collection to make progress.

And please don’t worry about getting everything perfectly chronological. Sometimes simply grouping photos by person, family, event or decade is a fantastic start.

Progress beats perfection. Every single time.

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #4
DON’T TRUST A USB DRIVE WITH YOUR ONLY COPY.

USB drives are incredibly convenient.

But they get lost.

They get damaged.

They stop working.

And sometimes they fail without warning.

Use USB drives as one part of your backup plan, not as the only home for decades of family memories.

The same goes for external hard drives.
If losing what’s on that device would devastate you, make another copy.

Then make sure one of those copies lives somewhere else.

A $20 drive can be replaced.

A photograph of someone you love cannot. ❤️

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #3
DON’T JUST SAVE THE PHOTO. SAVE THE STORY.

You know that’s Grandma. And You know the little boy standing next to her is Uncle Joe.

And you know that picture was taken at the cottage where everyone spent their summers.
But will your grandchildren know?

Turn those photographs over and start writing things down.
✍️ Names
✍️ Approximate dates
✍️ Places
✍️ Relationships
✍️ And especially the STORIES

Because someday, knowing who is in the picture may be just as precious as the picture itself.

Ask the questions while there is still someone here who knows the answers. ❤️

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #2
BE CAREFUL WITH OLD PHOTO ALBUMS.

Remember those “magnetic” albums with the sticky pages and clear plastic covers?
They weren’t always very kind to our photographs.

If you have older albums with yellowing pages, brittle photos or pictures that seem permanently stuck, don’t start pulling.
You can damage a photograph trying to save it.

Some photos can be safely removed and preserved. Others may be better digitized exactly where they are.

When in doubt, handle them gently and get some help before doing something you can’t undo.

Those old albums may not look like much…
but what’s inside them is priceless. ❤️

📸 SAVE YOUR PHOTOS MONTH — TIP #1
YOUR PHOTOS NEED MORE THAN ONE HOME.

If your family photos exist in only ONE place, they aren’t truly protected.

Not just on your phone.
Not just on your computer.
And definitely not just on one USB drive.

A good rule to remember is 3-2-1:
✨ 3 copies of your important photos
✨ 2 different types of storage
✨ 1 copy stored somewhere else, such as the cloud

Phones get lost. Computers crash. Hard drives and USBs fail.

Your memories deserve a backup plan. ❤️
