These are screen grabs from a video we shot back in 2023 with my dear friend Paras. The video never released, but this sequence quietly stayed with me — maybe because it came from a feeling I have always loved on screen.

I remember telling Paras about that beautiful moment from Swades, where Mohan gives a lift to a fakir and the journey gently opens into “Yun Hi Chala Chal.” There is something about that stretch of road, that movement, that sense of surrender — as if life is not always about arriving somewhere, but simply allowing yourself to keep moving.

This sequence was heavily inspired by that emotion. Not a recreation, but a small attempt to hold the same warmth — friendship, travel, music, dust, light, and the strange poetry of being on the road.

Some films don’t release. Some moments still do.

You show up at our set. The coffee is hot. The crew is ready. And Harsha Bhogle walks in. Yeah, it was that kind of day.

DIDA unfolds on an ordinary evening inside a middle-class home, where questions stumble, silences grow louder,
and love arrives without instructions.

Watch DIDA for the love confession of
Hemant didi / Himani bhaiya
because love doesn’t always need perfect words,
sometimes it just needs a place at the table… and a cup of chai.
