At DTA, we take punctuality VERY seriously. 🙌🏾🙌🏾

For every event, everyone is required to clock in by sending a timestamped picture. If you arrive late, there’s a fine. And yes, we pay those fines regularly! 😂

But guess what we use the money for? Our rehearsal-day food! So technically, your lateness is feeding the team. 😂

The system makes it easy to catch people who aren’t following the rules, but recently, we decided to look at the other side too.
We checked the clock-in records and discovered that one of our team members was almost ALWAYS the first person to clock in. Consistently early, consistently on time.

So, we decided to reward her.

Because at DTA, it’s not just about correcting people when they get it wrong. We also want to recognise and encourage people who are getting it right.
Carrot and stick, guys. Carrot and stick. 😂👏🏾

Tell the jollying folks of Ayédùn to be cautious,
For a dry terrain could get slippery beyond the wet.
Hum to their ears, tales and the excesses of Àkèré.
Perhaps, Àkẹ́bàjẹ́ the spendthrift will retrace his steps.

ìgbà ò lọ bí òréré,
Let the songbirds croon a warning song to the reckless folks of Ayégbẹgẹ́;
Betoning how the slothful Alágẹmọ dies, much more of Ọ̀Pọ̀lọ́ the leaper.
Life is such a fragile one-off gift,
B'ókùn ẹ̀mí bá ti já, ó d'ọ̀run Àṣànte!

ìgbà ò lọ bí òréré,
Ferry my voice to the flaunty folk's island of Ayékanpá:
Behold Aláàmù creeping around by the thousands,
Can you tell which of them is suffering from dyspepsia?
Plant the tree of moderacy; maybe òníkárími ẹ̀dá will turn a new leaf.

Sound a cautionary gong to the boastful, brainy folks of Ayépégba:
Tread the land with humility
Kòsí ọlọ́gbọ́n aye t'óle ta kókó omi s'étí aṣọ!

Olójú edé,
Your golden eyes in the likeness of rèterète are shimmering
Like Àdí-àgbon which was intruded by the blazing rays of the Sun.
They speak a language that only my heart could decipher.
Aftermath, I got lost in the euphoria; like a ship in the Bermuda Triangle.

Elésè osùn,
Tó, tó, tó, Aró; kò le rí bíi rè, rè, rè, Osùn.
Who dare compares Olú-Orán with Olú-Esunsun?
Yorùbá revere Etu as Òbèjé elésè Osùn.
But when you promenade gbàgede with your rhythmic steps,
They clamoured from east to west; to have your feet washed with Omi Olúminrìn.

Àbáké eni Oba nke,
Okà fi bórókótó s'olá,
Àkùko fi ogbe s'ewá,
Odídere fi gbogbo ara se'ko yebe yebe.
Onítèmi: ìwo fì'wà se'wà, o wa n f'ojojúmó dami lorun bi aso ààlà tuntun.

Olópò Ewà,
Your drowning beauty in confirmation to àrí-má-yejú
Got me entranced, like a butterfly sipping nectar.
If my fluttering heart was amongst the turbines that power our nation,
Then we'll never experience blackout.

Igi pò ní'gbó k'átó fi Òmò gbé Gbèdu,
Ìlèkè pò lójà kí Sàngó tó yan Kele láàyò.
Egbegbèrún Abo nbe lóde, kí n tó ní orùn isu re làparò mi ó kú sí.
How do you plan to halt a whizzing wind?
Ìgbín mi ti tenu mó'gi re, ó di dandan kó gun.

Erinlomo,
Let your love be like an ample tree, with a thousand shades of serenity;
The one whose leaves neither wither nor fade,
And of mickle fruits, appealing and satisfying.

Darker than black:

There's something about darkness,
How it serves its menu in excess,
Enveloping and relentless.
Overwhelming with crookedness

I've seen men taken the black.
Gone to the wall, the farthest North,
Seeking redemption.
Yet, they've never truly forsaken their old ways.

What do you do when you can't find your way?
And the moon had dimmed, hoarding its light.
Leaving you in utter darkness.
On your path to seeking greatness.

When you're stuck on the winding stairs,
You can't sight a thing, but the Devil stares.
You heard a voice; conveying how doomed you are:
No light will come, except the one within.
The one you sold to Hades for a cup of ale.

So you chose to be your own bane,
Being a sucker for pain.
No amount of light can trump this darkness,
For your heart is darker than black!

After the flower fades:

Love is a beautiful thing,
They say all is fair in love and war.
But what if lovers turn fighters?
Will it still be fair?

After the flower fades,
When the burning ember lose its light,
And the flying bird lose its wings.
It's always an eyesore to behold.

After the flower fades,
When moments once savoured reeks,
The erected wall sheds its bricks,
And the only entrance lose its creaks.

After the flower fades,
When the blistering Sun bleed to death,
The glinting star turned Supernova,
And the transcending Moon metamorphose.

After the flower fades,
When the dusk refused to give way to the dawn.
And the Egg refused to give way to Larva,
Like a fighter jet that won't fly.

After the flower fades,
When the Ocean lose its depth.
And the Sea lose its saltiness,
Like the Rosamond's jar, that lost it's purpleness.

After the flower fades,
When all hope seems lost, like a pervert in lust.
Will you take the cue and make for the exit?
Or will you linger, and act like a harbinger?

For after dark clouds, comes clear sky.
After Summer comes Autumn.
The weather might be stormy, soon it will subside.
Because after rainfall, comes rainbow.
And after the flower fades, it can bloom again.
