My 5 year old self was begging me to dance in a way that felt good to me today, so I said yes. The reason I’m sharing it with you, is so you know you’re not the only weirdo out there who has crazy ideas. 👉And are they really crazy ideas? Or are they something that’s coming up in you that needs to be let out? 🤔 Something that you’ve been holding in for a while… 🫶 Maybe you’re afraid to say yes to her/them 🫶 Maybe your head is telling you it’s not safe to be weird 🫶 Maybe you have spend so long holding in your weird that this invitation sparked something inside of you that feels scary and exciting 🫶 Or maybe you saw me dance like a weirdo and were reminded how good it felt when you let your weirdo out too, and realize you forgot for a minute that you can be anything you want. So why not be a weirdo? 🤷‍♀️ The people are going to judge, sure! But do you know that the judgement they have is primarily based in jealously of your audacity to be yourself? They judge you because they want to be a weirdo too. So what if we just decided that when we want to do a weirdo thing that we just do it? You don’t need to show yourself and be loud about it like I do, but your inner child knows, you will know, and the others who are leaning into their courage in their weirdness can feel your weirdness, and it’s giving all of us the strength we need to show up for ourselves. I don’t know about you, but that’s the kind of influence I can get on board with. How will you honour your inner weirdo today? 🩷 With heart, always. Today I finally got to meet Cecilia after we've been connected on Instagram for quite a while. ❤️ We met for lunch at D&D Smoked Eats, but honestly, the food was only part of the experience - PSA the food was amazing! . The time flew by as we shared our stories, talked about where we've come from, and bonded over a shared mission: supporting local businesses and building stronger communities. In a world that often pushes isolation, hustle, and doing everything on your own, I'm reminded more and more that we aren't meant to do life alone. Find your people. Find your village. The conversations, collaborations, encouragement, and friendships that come from the community are some of the most valuable things we can invest in. Community is what so many of us have been missing.
