Finally got to make some music with Jens Bunge!

A little Bluesette from @simplyjazz.sg , with @jensbunge.jazzharmonica on chromatic harmonica, @jeremymonteiro on piano, @stickmaneugene on bass, and yours truly on drums.

I’ve known of Jens’s playing for years, so getting to share the bandstand after two decades of playing jazz was quite something. And to top it off, @jeremymonteiro happened to be there and joined us on piano! Getting to play with both Jens and Jeremy on the same tune made the evening even more special.

Even nicer that the opportunity came through a sub call from @tamagohdrummer, who was one of my early mentors. Thanks for the opportunity and all the guidance over the years, Tama!

Some bits from the head, solos, trades and ending, followed by @marioserio888 introducing our guests.

I went from @rohema JB2 retractable brushes to bare hands, then 5A Evolution sticks, all on my @pantheon.sg.co snare. Available at @retrobeats.sg!

Full 9:35 performance on my YouTube channel. DM if curious!

Sound above all.

The best part is actually at the very end cause I turn towards the camera and you can really hear the gorgeous tone of the monette coming through

Sometimes we surprise ourselves and we suddenly hear the lines we've practiced 3 years ago so naturally coming out of our solos. The most surprising thing is that I don't know what I did on that cool harmonic movement!!

Well time to analyze it. 😂

With the AK5 again tonight and it really just gives me goosebumps whenever I play with these musicians!
