Happy 23rd Birthday, Colin! As parents, we’ve had a front-row seat to watch you grow into the man God has called you to be, and what an incredible journey it’s been! From a little boy who loved LEGOs, to the baseball fields where I had the privilege of announcing your name for so many years, to that day at 17 when you said, “Hey Dad, I want to start selling LEGOs.” Little did we know where that conversation would lead! From starting college while working your way up to Beach Coordinator at Disney, to taking a leap of faith and going all in on your dream. More than 20 conventions across the country, launching at Renninger’s in Melbourne, MegaCon in Orlando, signing with eBay Live, and doing live shows with eBay at Comic-Con in San Diego and New York City. And now, your very own LEGO store in Sebastian with six employees! What a journey, and you’re just getting started! What started as a love for LEGOs as a little boy has grown into something far beyond anything I could have imagined. Watching you turn a childhood passion into a thriving business through hard work, determination, and a willingness to take risks has been an incredible experience as your dad. But as proud as we are of everything you’ve accomplished, we’re even more proud of the young man you’ve become. Your faith in Christ, your character, your heart for others, and your willingness to chase the dreams God has placed in your heart mean more to us than any business success ever could. Colin, one of the greatest blessings of being your dad is having that front-row seat to watch God continue to write your story. And I believe some of the best chapters are still ahead! Happy 23rd Birthday, son! We love you, we’re incredibly proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for you next! Love you, Dad

Yesterday was Invite Week at Sebastian Charter Junior High, and the room was full! What an incredible morning! The club was 100% student-led, and the Gospel was shared with a room full of students. Several students made decisions to follow Christ, and those who responded were handed a Bible to take home. For some, it was the very first Bible they’d ever owned! This school year, First Priority will distribute 10,000 Bibles across First Priority clubs..For many students, it will be the first Bible they’ve ever held in their hands. And a special shoutout to my wife, Summer, who has faithfully served as the club’s faculty sponsor for the past six years. Check out the picture of her carrying Bibles into club yesterday! This is why we do what we do. Every Campus. Every Student. @firstpriorityflorida

Trust God Through the Detours Big Idea: An unexpected change may be part of God’s direction. A closed door can feel like failure. You may not get accepted, make the team, receive the job, enter the relationship, or experience the opportunity you wanted. When something doesn’t go according to plan, it is easy to wonder whether God has forgotten you. Devotion Proverbs 16:9 reminds us that we can choose a course, but God establishes our steps. Sometimes He does that by opening a door. Other times He does it by closing one. A detour is frustrating when you can’t see where it leads. However, God can use unexpected changes to protect you, prepare you, or redirect you. What feels like rejection today could become something you thank God for later. This doesn’t mean every disappointment will immediately make sense. It means that disappointment does not have the final word. God is still working, even when your life looks different from what you imagined. Quote A closed door does not mean God has stopped leading. Application Think about one recent disappointment or change of plans. Instead of only asking, Why did this happen?begin asking, “God, what do You want to teach me through this? Prayer Lord, help me trust You when my plans change. Remind me that You are still present in every disappointment and detour. Protect me from bitterness and help me believe that You can use every part of my story for Your purpose. Amen.

For the past 4½ years, my son has been building his LEGO business @cm_brickflips piece by piece — selling across the United States and now shipping orders around the world. What started as a small venture has grown into something pretty incredible, with multiple online platforms and a strong social media presence. Two months ago he took another step and opened a physical space at Renninger’s Flea & Farmers Market. After seeing the response from customers and collectors, he made the decision to keep the store and invest in it long-term. This week we began Phase 1 of the remodel — refreshing the space, improving the layout, and getting things ready for the next stage of growth. It’s been amazing watching him build something through hard work, consistency, and a real passion for what he does. More updates coming soon as the transformation continues.

Over 125 visits to Disney World as a family… and today it’s just us. No strollers. No schedules. No coordinating groups. Just Summer and me riding the tram into Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This has been her retirement dream for years. And somehow, after all these visits, the magic still hasn’t worn off. It’s just different now — and maybe even better.
