Latke and lox party!! Beetroot cured salmon, gravlax, crispy latkes, whitefish salad, rye bread, dilly pickled cucumber, raw shaved sprout salad, jalapeño cream cheese, crème fraîche, caviar (I promise it’s the fake kind), and dressing adornments of shallot dill and caperberries.

Christmas celebrations, bubbles for breakfast on empty hungover stomachs, Eurostar journeys sort of just for lunch, friends new and old together (makes me the happiest ever), missing everyone else most of the time♥️, some sort of weirdly blood-rooted affinity for the food of Eastern Europe which only gets stronger this time of year, a nod to Hanukkah and some introductions to latkes, draining teapots of breakfast tea dry, bravely telling our silliest stories of 2025, feeling really pretty lucky for the year that’s been anyway, and a little taster of nyc delis before the real deal 🤧🚕

Woweee bank holiday weekend calm before the storm but if the calm can scientifically speaking have a mild hurricane event during it.

Go go go, night out at some cuban bar and then realised the next morning that our al fresco Turkish brunch was literally directly opposite. Back to the scenes of the crimes - do you get deja vu. Hannah led the charge and steadied the hangover with pickles and a dc = womanhood. But yeah this resto is so good and one of the few places that makes me acquiesce on my dislike of brunch. I would rather play mini golf than go out and pay £14 for avocado toast (And I HATE the idea of mini golf). I had gozleme but the eggs were literally incredible the most buttery I have ever tasted 🧈🧈

Then cute girls day out followed by spontaneous pizza dinner because we felt like we were on hol (we weren’t but hard not to be optimistic after🍻and marylebone high st). This place was an undiscovered gem last time I went 4 years ago…turns out it is now very discovered and has sickening neon signs referencing its appearance in eat pray love. Really quite an embarassing shout. Should have remembered there’s no need to subject yourself to being within 0.5 miles of Baker Street station.

Next it was time to make a green tea and white chocolate cream cheese cake for Zara’s bday 🎉🎈🎂 Obviously had to go and give myself a second degree burn because how else could I make the day a bit more about me. Roasts were eaten at the garrison before Olivia Dean but I was focussing on resorting to aperol as a form of pain relief.

Restful day at parents’ home labouring over a cannellini bean dip with meticulously peeled broad beans, a parsley pesto, and caramelised garlic. Have really learnt to appreciate a potato salad at this age. Can’t remember what else there was. Made tons of beansss and brought to friends dinner in Stockwell in the evening - not pictured because #grounded #offline 📿 (more so because I fear men do not get content and I would not be invited back)

And some noodles!!! 🍜😋🍜🥒

Made Jjajangmyeon (Korean fermented black bean noodles) for the first time. This Friday evening solo pres moment felt like tik tok @cripandip had really got inside my microchip

@ixta.belfrage mackerel udon. Sounds bloody grim like something ur guy friend who can’t cook to save his life survived off at uni - except maybe not the udon. But Ixta can do no wrong this was so good. Sadness that I can’t take the leftovers to work because fish at work is obv a crime

Chilli oil sesame noodles with crispy chilli oyster mushrooms on top. Kinda like sesame liang pi. Low key oesophagus was contracting from how spicy these were from the off-market levels of spice in the chilli oil I made

Not noodles but homemade kinda fugly pap with another @ixta.belfrage inspired recipe of butternut miso and tomato salsa topping for Anna and Sims
