Hello! It’s my birthday 🎂 so it’s fitting I reintroduce myself. Let’s try to fit my recent life in 20 slides shall we. 🤍

Me after filming with @cortis

Snorlax is my favorite Pokemon. @matamiyu 🤍

I started breaking in university in the early 2000s at @uwmadison

My first job after university was part of @peacecorps in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania (West Africa) 🇲🇷

I brought dance everywhere with me. 🌍

I then worked as a Park Ranger in Alaska at @katmainpp 🐻

But I missed dance, so I moved to Korea in the late 2000s to be immersed in the dance scene. I loved dancing, but i sucked and never made it out of prelims 😅 so I picked up a camera and joined my friends at strifetv filming

In 2013, I created my own channel @stanceelements

Filming and working together is a lot better with friends 🫰🏼I could edit until 2 am and it doesn’t feel like work because I enjoy it.

I have a younger brother and sister

I probably got my passion for filming from my mom

I love teaching! I used to teach while in Africa and Korea so it’s second nature to me. @redbullusa

And of course the outdoors is still a passion of mine @redbulluk

Two years ago I hiked Everest trail with my parents 🏔️ in Nepal

@stanceelements team with me in the outdoors 🤍

Fitness is a huge passion of mine these days. I recently went from 280 lbs / 127 kgs —> 200 lbs / 90 kgs. I workout 6 days a week and I love bringing friends with me. @barrys

🤍🤍🤍 after workout

I played a huge role in breaking debuting in Paris 2024 Olympics. Majority of the statistics and event footage justifying Olympics were using @stanceelements analytics. I also helped edit a lot of the promo videos and documentaries. @olympics

🤍 @ddorais @kirnicholas

I like doing what I do because of my friends around me. Y’all are my family. 🤍

@mandyjcruz @adeline.kerry @filmedbyfrancisco

Thank you listening!

There’s smaller stories amongst all of this stuff that deserve another post another time.

a week since we held diaspora amplified and i’ve been taking the time to bask in the overflow of inspiration, gratitude but most of all bayanihan 🌱💜🌟

first and foremost want to thank all of the amazing teams that came together to make it happen! our fellow leads for your time & dedication these past months @fuadabigail @acrosstheaniverse @scottshimaaa @tenzintsepel 💜 our super mega awesome floor managers + team!!!! @bichelle_123 @tamankhuc @nikole.vo @st4rgrlcherry @jojuptrr 🫂
our drink sponsors @newwavebrewingco @drinkkace @chiforest for their generosity!! 🥂 @theloungebooth for always bringing the best vibes & photo booth experience.
and the insanely wonderful team at @givehopestudios for welcoming us into their beautiful space! <3
thank you to each of you for your willingness to foster and encourage the community.

a special thank you to my co-lead & partner in all of this @andrepak! couldn’t and wouldn’t have wished to bring this idea to fruition with anyone else. from the initial calls/texts and lil ideas being thrown into the universe - what a surreal feeling to have seen it all come to life! doing the best we could with all we had to serve and create a space that uplifted our AAPI community.

to our brilliant & inspiring lineup!! 🌟
our wonderful panelists for their vulnerability + insight @jaycommacarla @slominu @whoisnicklee & moderator @kaeence! our amazing performers for showcasing each of their insanely amazing talents @mihokim @acoyamusic @kevnchung 🌟 cheering each of you on always!

lastly, thank YOU! to every person that offered their support and every single one of you that showed up. for taking the time to show up and show out; to celebrate one another and all that we are capable of. thank you for your time and for exemplifying bayanihan not just for one night but with every foot forward in each of your journeys.

-

all i’ve ever wanted to do is create - in any way possible. thank you all for constantly allowing me to create something beyond myself. may we continue to work towards an industry and communities that we look forward to, together. as always, thank you for your time. maraming maraming salamat <3

This AAPI Women Music event started off as an idea that became real. Thank you for celebrating with us. We got to tie in history, emerging artists, Asian-owned businesses, mental heath + wellness, giveaways, live performances, pop-ups, and most importantly the opportunity to bring the community together on a Saturday. Best birthday ever ♥️

A special thanks to our panelists, guest speakers, vendors, and partners. @richardfrias @haositgoin_ @avclubvids @sincerelyloan @lindanguyen_community

💥 This weekend, we celebrated AAPI women shaping the future of music at the NOISEMAKERS summit powered by @converse + @donnermusic_official, alongside an incredible community of artists, executives, and creatives. Asian Nation was proud to serve as the Entertainment Partner.

A standout moment was our co-chair Christine Cao on stage with @marisapizarro to discuss the music industry in a corporate lense. Shoutout to @sincerelyloan for guiding the powerful conversations. Major love to @dollyave for bringing this entire vision to life 💫
More moments coming your way soon 🎬
