Year 10 ♥️✨

As I reflect these past 10 years as a MUA, I notice growth and resilience I never knew I had. I often criticized myself “you’re not doing enough”, but never realized the small milestones one brick at a time built something much more beautiful in the end.

May 2024, my mom passed away. PAINFUL, still grieving today. But the world still turns, gotta keep going.

Reaching 10 years taught me grace and to be kind to myself. It taught me to trust the process and be patient, even when business is slow. It taught me to release the worry and tension because if I didn’t have it figured out, I know who did.

September 2021, what was only supposed to be temporary hurricane evacuation turned permanent in Houston. Life was just getting so good for me back home. I had no plan. How was I gonna start a whole new life in a new city just off my business? These people don’t know me or my business, but what I did? PUT IN WORK! Got my name out there! PUT IT IN THEY FACE! And I say that to say, what took me 3-4 YEARS to do in Louisiana, it took me 7 MONTHS to do in Houston!

February of 2025, I wanted to get more income so I got a WFH job. Fast forward to February 2026, I decided that wasn’t my calling. I was stressed every single day. I quit a FT job with benefits because I know God and what’s he’s capable of doing. Makeup IS my true God given talent. and I make way more money doing what I love. Just a girl living on faith and prayers at this point.

March 2026, I randomly decided to go suite hunting and sure enough, I found mine. What did this mean for me? Double overhead. Business hadn’t even picked up yet. Why did I do it? Because a I KNOW GOD. This is what 100% faith looks like in real life. Once I realized that faith and fear can’t co-exist, I started thriving.

Just a woman who bet on herself and understands I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Along with God’s grace, can’t no man ever take what I built from the ground up.

Cheers to 10 YEARS!!!! Cheers to my clients! Cheers to anyone that has ever supported me! Cheers to the good, bad, and ugly! Cheers to God keeping me! And cheers for all the success to come!
