"Well, even if he were to stay cold forever, I would still kiss him. I would kiss him until the earth itself ended".

Book 2 in the A Blood & Blackstone series, THE ROT IN OUR RIBCAGE by @sinclairamacabre is out now.

This was tragically addictive. The writing is hauntingly beautiful and filled with some much longing. I lived for the dual POV and how the author took us through the life, death, and heart of our two main characters.

At what cost would you bring your true love back from the grave?

The cost is steep, but Daedalus is willing to pay and do anything to bring Cain back. Love will push the bounds of what the soul is capable of doing. A man in love will always find a way.

There is something astounding in writing horramance in the most beautiful way. It is romantic, terrifying, and the perfect read for those who loved to be left unsettled(in the best way).

Thank you so muchnto the author and to the @thenerdfam for letting me be an earky reader 💙🫰

The Blurb:

Tragedies happen in twos—but for Daedalus, they've been happening his whole life.

For a year, Daedalus fell in love with the effervescent boy who uprooted his entire structure, Cain Sidrelle, and he's more than sure nothing else can come between them. But when Cain's murder comes to light, his world falls apart, shattering into nothing but broken dreams and a broken heart.
Two years later, Daedalus is determined to get his love back—no matter the cost, no matter the consequences. Everything comes down to bringing Cain back to life in the privacy of his manor, in ways even he isn't versed in. It consumes his every waking moment, as he tends to him and prepares his ultimate plan.
And as Cain returns to him, his world becomes nothing but restoring his mind, memories, and the romance they once shared—despite all of the people who think he's wrong for what he did.

My October TBR 🎃

I have so many amazing books to read this month. It’s going to be crazy busy.

I do have a small backlog of some ARCs that I’ve fallen behind on too but I promise that I’m working through them as fast as I can. Life has been a bit dramatic lately and my brain is not cooperating

What books are you excited for this month?

Rot In Our Ribcages (Blood & Blackstone 2) @sinclairamacabre 4⭐️ 3.5🌶️

Frankenstein x Crimson Peak x gothic romance x slow burn (AGAIN) x second chance romance

We’re now left with a second round of SLOW BURN second chance romance as Cain slowly regains his memories from being resurrected. It was kind of retreading Dae’s feelings of inadequacy and the emotional turmoil from his mother’s abuse. Which kind of works, if you hadn’t read the first book.

What the book gets extremely right is the atmosphere. This is pure spooky earthy gothic magic mansion vibes. I could feel the tension and yearning steams off the book,. We also went from single to Dual POV which I liked better. Also the HUNGER. THE OBSESSION. THE BODY HORROR.

I’m giving this 4⭐️ as I did enjoy reading this and some of the writing is so gorgeous and ethereal, I honestly lost it over one of the loveliest declarations of love I’ve read. Also the message of finally embracing your monstrous side and being able to love/be loved as your true self was well done.

I’m also down to read whatever else the author does in this world, because there’s a lot that can be explored.

‘I’m not a madman. I can promise that much. My bone-marked hands are dirt-stained and aching, but I’m not a madman.’

Hunger is always messy for me, in everything. There’s nothing in me that isn’t messy.

Being bitten is one source of pleasure, but doing the biting is another thing entirely. It eases something in my brain, fills a hunger I didn’t know I had, pools heat in my hips.

I nip at his tongue and exhale shakily, pressing one more starving kiss to his lips. “Take what you want, please. Take what you need.”

What more can I say than 5 stars!! This book is so beautiful and sweet but also dark and grotesque at times. The way Dae loved Cain made my chest ache, this man was so devoted to him and the way he talked about him, oh my days I wanted to melt. I love Cain and how he made Dae feel loved and more confident in his own skin (in more ways than one but not spoilers 😉). I love the world the author created and how it has this dark, gloomy vibe to it, in a good way of course! I love the side characters and how we are fed just enough crumbs to desperately want to get to know them better. Overall 5 stars and you should read this book if you want a gothic love story with absolutely painful yearning. Side note, there is a book before this one called The Skeletons in our Closet. It sets up how Dae and Cain met and I highly recommend you read it before this one not just because it’s a good book but also because it provides a lot of background for the world and the characters. Thank you so much to the author for providing me with an ARC

One more day! I can’t believe it is almost release day for The Rot in our Ribcages by @sinclairamacabre 🫣

This little snippet was one of my absolute favorite moments of the story, this hit home and hard. I love these characters so much, the love they have, the kindness they have for each other.

💀The countdown begins for The Rot in our Ribcages by @sinclairamacabre 💀

I cannot wait for you all to read this amazing duology and meet these dark, beautiful men.

These are just two of my favorite quotes from this read, Daedalus being his yearning self and Cain being his sassy, sarcastic self.

And don’t you worry, I have a long list of quotes to yap about 🫣
