come collect your daily dose of confidence…

if you told little baby sha sha that she would be releasing her own music, hosting her own event, performing on stage with a band @soulmamalondon @southbankcentre, modelling, styling and creatively directing her who shoots, have her images displayed in the @tate… i think she would PASS OUT 😂

in june 2023 i went on a spiritual journey and released how empty and unfulfilled i was living for the weekend, getting drunk to numb my pain… when all i wanted and needed was to let my inner child BE FREEE because she was screaming out to express herself UNAPOLOGETICALLY!

i’ll always be the first person to cheer on everyone around me because i’ve been through the grief of letting go of the old me 🤲🏽✨

WHY YOU ACTING LIKE YOUR HOPES ALL GONE???

This song was born from one of those conversations that shifts something in you.

@helloiamgemma and I were talking about what it really feels like to be an independent artist… chasing a dream, questioning yourself, feeling like you’re stuck in “the pit”, and wondering if you’re ever going to find your way.

So we sat in my car, then produced and wrote a demo. That’s where Come Right Back came from.

Now, every time I perform this song, it’s a reminder to myself just as much as it is to you:

✨ Come right back to who YOU are!
✨ Stop trying to become someone else.
✨ To radically accept yourself.
✨ Be yourself, UNAPOLOGETICALLY!

I promise whatever you’re looking for has been there within YOU all along.

If this message is something you needed to hear today, let me know in the comments: what’s one thing that’s helping you come right back to yourself? ❤️‍🔥

I’m feeling blessed and beyond grateful to have opened for the wonderful @taralilymood for the @asiantones south Asian sounds takeover @southbankcentre 🤲🏽✨

I spend an unhealthy amount of time thinking about music, all for the love of the process and to keep getting better and growing. I’m extremely lucky to have found a beautiful group of musicians to work alongside with who share the love that I have for music and I am so fortunate to be able to share a stage with my band.

I pray this is the first of many more achievements because I am filled with JOY to have performed at THE @southbankcentre performing my original songs while I keep pushing for more representation of BRITISH INDIAN artists in the western world. To remind you that we all deserve to embrace who we are UNAPOLOGETICALLY ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Thank you again to the band, please go show them love 🙏🏽💫

I’ve broken down… I NEEDED TO.

As someone who spent many years in autopilot, I still pinch myself thinking about the fact I’m living the life I once dreamed of.

I used to be a policy advisor, writing transport policy and consult on delivering sustainable infrastructure. That all I would pray for was the weekend, so that I could go to a gig or countdown the days to the next festival I was going to.

I used to STUDY live performances, watch live sets on YouTube (s/o my GOAT @ettajamesofficial). I was OBSESSED!!! That NOW, anytime I step on a stage I feel SO GRATEFUL.

Whenever I perform I feel obliged to give back to those in the crowd who were like me. Who wanted to escape, who were desperate to feel something to be CONNECTED in that moment.

BUT 2024 Shalini, was so SCARED and it’s so endearing thinking back to my first open mic... who wants to see those videos???😅 BUT I KNEW in order for me to share the same energy I used to crave, I HAD TO FACE MY FEARS. Sooo naturally I went to over 80 open mics, in London and LA, I would busk with randoms, sing to anyone that would listen because I was a woman on a mission (and still am)!!!

I am truly grateful to connect to so many people, to keep healing and growing BECAUSE ALL OF THIS began with me wanting to reconnect to my inner child. AND SHALINI YOU DID THIS AND I AM PROUD OF YOU.

Life isn’t about finding who you are, it’s about CREATING who you are… 2025 taught me so much about myself and I’m so excited to be more creative this year, as well as be UNAPOLOGETICALLY ME!!!

Big love to @by.sapna for designing the most epic ties. THANK YOU @jacquesadilla for capturing us in our element AND a special thank you to the band for all the support ❤️‍🔥
