Dear all, Our previous account was disabled for unknown reasons, and unfortunately we were unable to recover it. Because of this, we had to start a new account. This is the new DFAS Club account, and we’ll continue sharing our printing work and productions here. Thank you for your support. ————————— DFAS Club is a printing and publishing studio based in Los Angeles, founded by two photography alumni from California College of the Arts (CCA). The name “DFAS Club” is inspired by CCA’s soon-to-close Digital Fine Art Studio (DFAS), serving as both a statement and a memorial to the space. Working across risograph printing, photobook production, and image-based workflows, DFAS Club operates at the intersection of technical production and independent publishing. The studio supports artists, designers, and small-scale publishers through printing, scanning, and material experimentation. #risograph #risoprinting

cca 1st year time capsule to not knowing what the future held and almost not being able to go to art school to then moving to the bay area for more than four years of my life. i had many great first experiences here and i'm extremely grateful for the friends and mentors i made during this stepping stone of my art career. i couldn't have survived my first year away from home and for college, if it wasn't for the people i met here on the OG oakland campus.

Degradable Story Written by Sinistra Pan in 2023. Published by unpress in 2025. A recyclable poem, 3D printed in Polylactic Acid (PLA). Degradable Story interrogates the commodification of environmental protection through material and form. The work comprises eleven 3D-printed pages (60mm × 45mm × 0.6mm) bound by a single 3D-printed ring (12mm × 12mm × 2.0mm). The text inscribed within reads: —— I am a book of poems a tale to be told meant to be read and meant to be thrown I live in your hands your heart your space Degradable stories leaving nary a trace —— The project began with a doubt. As Sinistra recycled the waste of 3D prints into the recycling bin, he was reminded of the black hole in Shinichi Hoshi’s “Can Anyone Hear Me?”—a void believed to erase all trash, allowing people to produce more waste without guilt, until one day the trash began to return. This image lingered. He began to question the promise behind the eco-friendly label: was it purely for earth, or merely a way to comfort people and sustain the market’s appetite? Each copy of Degradable Story is produced using leftover filament from the end of each spool. As a result, the color of every copy is unpredictable and never fixed.

10/02 - 10/26 [書展] 寫給影像的告白：跨越攝影、出版與感官的實踐 to images: Practices Across Photography Publishing and the Senses ✨書籍作品介紹✨ 《Is A Black Swan A False Swan?》Sinistra Pan 一本探索符號構成的小誌。 Mon. - Sat. 10:00-21:30 Sun. 11:00-19:00

10/02 - 10/26 [書展] 寫給影像的告白：跨越攝影、出版與感官的實踐 to images: Practices Across Photography Publishing and the Senses ✨書籍作品介紹✨ 《3andwich 三文誌：叫起》Howsem Huang, Tung-Lin Tsai, Sinistra Pan Unpress 的第一本協作出版刊物。 - 《How to Fold a Paper Airplane》蔡東霖 Tung-Lin Tsai 2023年底，我回台灣投票後，開始反覆做夢，《How to Fold a Paper Airplane》正是從這些夢境萌生。 Mon. - Sat. 10:00-21:30 Sun. 11:00-19:00

This week’s @substack is an ode to the unconventional artist website. A love letter to the subversive creative archive. And why websites like this need to exist for artists in today’s social-first age.

We are excited to announce our first collaborative publication project called 3andwich. Titled 叫起 (Cantonese: giu3 hei2), the photobook shows three journeys embarked by three fortune cookie fortunes which had come across to each artist. The fortune cookies from Los Angeles, Boston, and Vancouver—do they taste differently? The lightness of fortunes reflects an unpromising future from the unsurprising and determined words. Interwoven with their meanings, three visual poems bring the readers into three different journeys in time. A recurring theme is present in the images: the reflection of the past, present, and future. 三文誌3andwich issue 1: 叫起 is hand-bound by @tsaitungtung . All page are printed in archival inkjet printers. Limited copies of the first edition will be available at @multipleformats art book fair this Saturday! There will be more books and zines on our table as well. 👉swipe to check out our piece list (p3). #artistsbook #photobook #selfpublishing #photography #bookbinding #multipleformats
