Through My Hometown, I’m exploring teas crafted here in the Last Frontier, celebrating the artisans who capture a sense of Alaska in every leaf. Today’s stop is Fairbanks, where gold rush history, Athabaskan heritage, and the spirit of the Interior come together. 1000 Mile Tea 📍 @sippingstreams 🍃 Black & White Tea Inspired by the legendary Yukon Quest, this blend reflects the resilience and adventure of Alaska’s historic winter trails. The aroma opens with fresh, herbaceous white tea before rich notes of toasted malt, cocoa, and warm cabin wood emerge. In the cup, the black tea offers a bold, grounding character while the white tea lends a gentle elegance. It is smooth on its own, wonderful with a splash of milk, and makes an excellent tea latte. I added a touch of sugar-free brown sugar and cinnamon syrup, which beautifully highlighted the tea’s natural maltiness without overpowering it. This is a tea made for golden autumn days, though it feels equally at home beside a crackling fire in the heart of an Alaskan winter. Full review: https://tinyurl.com/1000-Miles-Tea
