THE LAST STACKIN’ STYLEZ
THE END OF AN ERA 🧡

To make space for a new season. A decision I’ve been processing for a few years. I’m grateful for the family we’ve built over the years.

Stackin’ Stylez started as an all hands on deck initiative, it was never meant to be upheld alone, but it was a structure that spoke to the back pack era of dancers that NEEDED a space. Many of the initiatives within Stackin’ Stylez were a response to gaps that needed to be filled:

StackBNB
A skill share program where dancers could host dancers from out of state in exchange for a private lesson. A response to the strict zoning laws and taxes that drive hotel and Airbnb prices up, deterring people away from traveling to Boston for events

STACKIN’ BOSTON - FOR THE CITY
Award ceremonies and panel discussions with the elders which eventually became a docuseries addressed the generational gap we were experiencing between the elders and youth.

Freestyle Concepts
Put a spin on traditional jams inviting in fresh creativity and a space for dancers to explore a more artistic approach to battling and training

Battle Guest
Brought the dancers I met along the way back to the city to experience Boston and share insight on regional dance forms that weren’t previously introduced to Boston;

We took panel discussions from my living room and brought panels, workshops, installations, battles, and screenings to the Museum of Science and Harvard.

It was never meant to be a structure upheld alone. With the growing responsibilities in my life, the grief/disappointment I’ve experience over the year with the scene, and the acceptance that we are simply in a different era as a scene brings me to a space where I have to let this go to make space for me to become who I need to be for a new era of this journey.

2 posts in 1 day type shit, cuz if I don’t do it now I will continue to forget. #stoopkidbakentake has been a whirlwind of a ride so far. I’m still so shocked that it’s become what it has in less than a year. I’m so grateful to the Phoenix community for backing it, and showing up each time. The event wouldn’t be what it is without all my friends frantically folding boxes 45 mins before the start time lol.

Thank you for your continued support and special thanks to @phoenixnewtimes & @stoopkidphx and all of the bakers who have volunteered their products and time!

[09.12.2026] My prelim @ruthlesshiphop_ battle. I always felt hip hop was my weakest which is exactly why I wanted to push myself to do it. Focus this time around was building the round and letting my own sauce ooze into what I did. Always more work to do so I’m posting this to keep myself accountable. This is where I’m at. Back to working on my movement.

Huge huge shout out to @_b2.real_ and @jullianmorales_ for making this 🔥 event, @sir_panico for bringing the heat all night with those tracks 🤜🤛, the amazing and talented judges @son.e_day @rememberhans and @raquandachef, legendary host @k1ng.trizz_ , my prodigy opponent @elijah.dance14 (we meet again haha), and of course mah lovely fren @thisischeska for getting this on film and encouraging me all the way 🫶

This was such an incredible night. Reconnected with many friends, saw people push themselves to greater heights, and had a front row seat to such a welcoming community. Much love always. 🫶 Pls let there be a part 2 in the future hehe
