Building a company that attracts capital takes more than a strong idea. It takes a strategy built for scale. 💡 Join Arif Gursel, Managing Director at 8genC - UnCap Ventures, Monique Idlett, Co-Founder & General Partner at Reign Venture, and Kobie Fuller, General Partner at Upfront Ventures, for “Building a Venture-Backable Company.” In this session, they’ll break down what investors look for in the early stages, why founders often cap their own upside, and how creators and bootstrappers can build for scale without giving up their edge. How do you truly build anywhere? Start with your people How do you truly build anywhere? Start with your people. @sirgursel and I break it down in this new episode! One of the biggest lessons from this conversation was simple: don’t move for the opportunity before you know who you can trust. Whether you’re building in Ghana or anywhere else, your network matters. Find your people. Build with people who know the ground. Trust is what turns an idea into something real and something lasting. #TrustNetworks #FindYourPeople #Community #Entrepreneurship #CultureIsCurrency

For nearly a decade, Keeper of Sadness has grown through conversations, residencies, work-in-progress showings, research, healing workshops, and community engagement. Today, that work continues... 30 Black Womxn entrusted the Keeper of Sadness with more than 40 hours of testimony. Their faces, voices, and stories have been woven together to create an Ancestral Avatar. She is not one womxn’s story, but a collective presence shaped by many.  Keeper of Sadness August 1 & 2 | Union Station | Seattle, WA Free & Open to the public RSVP at the link in our bio. Shout out to every magical being who contributed their voice. Your trust, your truth, and your testimony made her possible. She exists because you said yes. With gratitude to @orbe_orbe and @danitirrell for helping shape the questions that opened these conversations, to @sirgursel for holding them on camera @theunionsea, and to @anatolaaraba for building what emerged from them. #SoloMagic #ThingsToDoSeattle #BlackArtsSeattle #ContemporaryDance #SeattleDance

No work like this is created alone. Keeper of Sadness exists because of the extraordinary artists, thinkers, technicians, caregivers, and community builders who have chosen to bring this work to life together. Every rehearsal, conversation, interview, and act of care has shaped what KOS is becoming. Thank you for your brilliance, your vulnerability, your labor, and your belief in what becomes possible when we create in community. This work carries each of your fingerprints, and we are deeply honored to walk this journey alongside you. Not every member of the current creative team is pictured here. We also honor Fabric Designer @ronaleewear, Technical & Lighting Designer @penumbralux3021, and Technical Consultant @ambercapuchin, whose artistry, care, and commitment are woven into this work. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to Keeper of Sadness throughout its evolution and helped make this moment possible. Cheers to the KOS Dream Team. 🥂✨🙏🏾 #KeeperofSadness #SoloMagic #SeattleArtist #PerformanceArt #BlackArtist
