Whispers of Autumn: The Pleated Parasol ๐Ÿ„โœจ

โ€‹During my recent photo tour in Drenthe, I stumbled upon this delicate little gem tucked away in the forest. This is a Pleated Parasol (Parasola plicatilis), known for its paper-thin, translucent cap and beautiful ribbed texture. It vanishes almost as quickly as it appears, making it a true privilege to capture!

โ€‹Also, the weekend starts tonight! Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing weekend. ๐ŸŒฟโœจ

A Jewel from the Wild: The Downy Emerald Captured in Drenthe

Finding a Downy Emerald (Cordulia aenea) in its natural habitat is a rare privilege. Captured here in the heathlands of Drenthe, this majestic dragonfly, known for its iridescent green body and brilliant green eyes, is a symbol of pristine nature and the beauty that exists right on our doorstep.

Often considered a sign of healthy ecosystems, seeing a Downy Emerald is not just a visual delight but also a powerful reminder of our responsibility to protect these vital habitats. In many areas, they are threatened by habitat loss and pollution, making each encounter a truly special moment.

Frozen in time until the sun wakes up! โ˜€๏ธ

This male Darter (Sympetrum) is completely covered in morning dew droplets ๐Ÿ’ง. As cold-blooded hunters, dragonflies can't fly until the sun warms up their wing muscles.

โ€‹Did you know dragonflies are vital for our ecosystem? As natural pest controllers, they keep populations of mosquitoes and flies in check, while their larvae maintain balance under water. True guardians of our wetlands! ๐ŸŒฟ

Kicking off vintage weekend! ๐ŸŒธโœจ

Taking a step back in time with the classic 135mm glass to capture these vibrant colors and soft, dreamy bokeh. There is just something special about shooting with vintage lensesโ€”pure character in every frame.

Have a great weekend, everyone! ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ“ธ

โ€‹Resting on a dry branch, bathed in soft warm light.
The Common Darter never fails to deliver razor-sharp details and intricate wing patterns.

๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿชฝ โ€‹The final standard macro shot for a bitโ€”because starting this weekend, the vintage swirl is back! ๐ŸŒ€ โ€‹Stay tuned for pure bokeh magic! โœจ

Balancing on the edge of space and weightlessness.

A green bush-cricket (Tettigoniidae) resting on blooming purple heather, giving off pure zero-gravity vibes. Captured as a true single frameโ€”no focus stacking or composites, just raw patience in the field.
