This has been the most transformative summer of my life and although it has been a painful process, I’ve grown. Thank you to the people in my life who I love and continuously pour into me. I moved into my first apartment, seen BTS for the first time, went to PR & have a socialist mayor. All things I‘ve manifested since I was 16. Here’s to more growth. 🌱

Philly keep showing up. @elsewhere.fair is open through tomorrow, Saturday, June 6 at the beautiful @helloyowie in beautiful Queen Village. Thank you organizer @blahblahgallery, my roomie @trotterandsholer, and all the participating artists, art spaces, workers, and supporters.
@uffnerliu
Uffner & Liu’s presentation follows Made in Philly, the gallery’s exhibition on view from November through January, which highlighted twelve Philadelphia-based artists and estates, including David Aipperspach, Mark Thomas Gibson, Leroy Johnson, Aubrey Levinthal, Gilbert Lewis, Roberto Lugo, Sarah McEneaney, Bethann Parker, Leigh Werrell, Didier William, Nasir Young, and Allen Yu.
At Elsewhere, the gallery brings together artists with strong Philadelphia connections alongside several artists from its roster.
Highlights of the presentation include Nasir Young’s paintings of Philadelphia street scenes and Anne Buckwalter’s works, which draw upon the Pennsylvania Dutch environment in which she was raised while incorporating erotic imagery often relegated to private spaces.
Also on view will be Pam Lins’ ongoing Crying Eyes series, begun in 2017 during the first Trump administration and continuing through the second. Presented on the eve of the United States’ 250th anniversary, in Philadelphia—the birthplace of the nation—the works are symbolic of the grief shared by so many of its people, marking this period in American life.
The presentation will also feature a new work by Iranian artist Arghavan Khosravi, whose work has previously been exhibited at Philadelphia’s National Liberty Museum in the show In Pursuit: Artists’ Perspectives on a Nation, and whose work is included in the collection of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
Additional highlights include Roger White’s domestic cut-paper still life, an assemblage work by Sheree Hovsepian —whose work is currently on view at MoMA —Anna Jung Seo’s characteristically small-scale and contemplative painting Young Artist in Melancholy Garden, and Brazilian-American artist Sacha Ingber’s Amazonas which will greet visitors from the bed.

all smiles bc last week i got to share a very special moment with my students, singing a song i wrote for them, with them, at webster hall for the 30th anniversary of @girlsclubny! i’m so proud of my kiddoooosss!!! and the superstar of the hour @__ms.mila__ !! i’m so grateful to @erinbarra and @wmn.global for trusting and believing in me to begin teaching in this place some 5 years ago. and to @sweetspotnyc for being a top tier mentor, guide and pushing us all to think bigger and have fun in every moment! girls club is such an important place to me and its inhabitants: students get a place to express, challenge and get to know themselves for freeeee and teaching artists receive support that encourages growth. this role has given me family, inspiration, and a well of love that is actively OVERFLOWING. it is the honor of a lifetime to be their teacher and student alike. FUNDDDD THE ARRRTSSS, IT SAVES LIVES 💛
