We spent an amazing day visiting @ecosoap.nepal in Nepal! 🧼✨

It was so inspiring to see how they turn hotel waste into a tool for change saving the environment through soap recycling while creating dignified jobs and empowering local women. Plus, our students got these adorable recycled soaps! 💚

Today, we had an enriching session with feminist writer, poet, and activist Pranika Koyu on the women’s movement in Nepal. Exploring books written by and about women, alongside the resources at the Junkiri Feminist Library, was an invaluable learning experience. We gained deeper insights into the challenges faced by women, gender-nonconforming people, and the feminist movement at large within Nepal’s deeply entrenched patriarchal sociopolitical landscape.

The session encouraged us to reflect on the struggles, resilience, and collective efforts that have shaped the movement, while reminding us of the importance of documenting feminist histories, amplifying diverse voices, and continuing conversations around gender justice and equality.

Knowing how to cook is a basic life skill everyone should have. Our students got a taste of this as they prepared some local delicacies. Learning not just cooking, but also practicing the Nepali language in the process! And yes, the food was absolutely delicious!

🎓 Learning beyond borders! SIT students explore mental health innovation at Sangath Goa

Sangath India recently welcome students from the School for International Training (SIT) to our Goa office for a 3-day learning and exposure visit.
During their time with us, the students had the opportunity to engage directly with our project teams, gaining first-hand insights into Sangath’s work across the mental health landscape in India and beyond — from community-based initiatives to digital innovations and global collaborations advancing mental health equity.

💬 The visit fostered meaningful exchanges on research, implementation, and innovation in mental health — reflecting Sangath’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of changemakers.

Three unforgettable days on the volcanic island of Ustica 🌋🌊

Together with our students, we explored Ustica from above and below the surface, discovering the island’s fascinating geological and historical heritage. Thanks to Palma Nana, we had the opportunity to explore the underwater world of the Ustica Marine Protected Area through an incredible snorkeling experience, discovering the richness of its marine ecosystem firsthand.

We also visited the Ustica Study Center, where we learned more about the island’s unique culture, history, and natural environment.

A huge thank you to Palma Nana and the Ustica Study Center for sharing their incredible knowledge, expertise, and passion with us! 💙

And of course, learning was only part of the experience. Our students also had plenty of time to explore the island, enjoy its landscapes, spend time together, and simply have fun along the way.

Three days of discovery, adventure, and unforgettable memories in one of Sicily’s most extraordinary islands. ✨

Our students visited two of Yogyakarta’s most iconic temples, Borobudur and Prambanan, as a continuation of their learning about Buddhism and Hinduism in Indonesia.

🌏 @sitstudyabroad

At Borobudur, students explored Buddhist cosmology, 72 stupas, and hundreds of Buddha figures. Borobudur is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The day after visiting Borobudur, students visited Prambanan, the largest temple compound dedicated to Shiva in Indonesia and another UNESCO World Heritage Site. At Prambanan, students also got to try playing Indonesian traditional games before watching the spectacular Ramayana Ballet show that is a famous show telling a version of the Ramayana story through Javanese dance, music, and theatre.
