My recap of the NASP 2026 Annual Convention is quite similar to a day in the life of a school psychologist: there is never enough time. But even with our never ending to-do lists, we try again tomorrow because the work—serving children—is always worth it.

From the time I landed and checked into my hotel on Tuesday night until my last event on Thursday night, the days and nights were filled with meeting graduate students, faculty, and practitioners. From those who are in their first semester of graduate school to retirees who served children in various capacities for close to 40 years, these pictures are a fraction of the interactions that I was incredibly blessed to share with friends and colleagues. They are students and former students. Some I just met, and others I’ve known since I was a budding school psychologist at Lehigh University in the early 2000s. Some learned about school psychology through the NASP Exposure Project and wanted to be sure I knew, and others heard me guest lecture in their classes or present in other settings. Some are my former interns who are taking the field by storm in their own way—writing, speaking, and teaching across the US and in Taiwan. They are entrepreneurs and trailblazers—using their respective gifts to bring much needed innovation to school psychology and education. Many of them stopped me because they read or are reading one of my books. Each picture represents a personal story that is filled with purpose; and I am honored to have spent even a few moments with everyone shown here.

Like previous years, the energy and excitement from graduate students was palpable and the best part of the week. And because of what so many have done for me, I will always facilitate opportunities for them to continue growing into the outstanding professionals that they are destined to become.

If time or schedules didn’t allow our paths to cross, hopefully things will be different next year. Until then, stay in touch and keep doing what is best for children. After all, it’s always, and in all ways, about the children. #todayinschoolpsychology #itsalwaysaboutthechildren #schoolpsychology #schoolpsychologist #itsalwaysaboutthechildren2e
