Year 5 of the Iowa Music Awards is officially underway, and submissions for the 2026 season are now open. As the event continues to grow, additional categories have been introduced based on community feedback to recognize a broader range of musical talent. New categories include Pianist/Keyboard Player of the Year, Drummer of the Year, Violinist of the Year, Guitarist of the Year (Bass, Electric, Acoustic), Music Educator, and Radio Show/Personality. Submissions may also be entered under “Other” if a category is not currently listed.

Submission Rules and Guidelines:
• Eligible work must have been released or performed between September 9, 2025, and September 1, 2026.
• Nominees will be announced by October 1, 2026.
• Categories receiving more than eight submissions may be divided to increase nomination opportunities.
• Categories must have a minimum of four submissions for a trophy to be awarded.
• Categories with three or fewer submissions may be merged with similar categories or awarded a plaque instead of a trophy.
• Categories with only one submission may result in an automatic win, unless merged into a similar category.
• A minimum of five submissions is required for a category to be presented at the awards ceremony.
• Typically, 20–25 categories are presented live, based on submission volume and attendee interest.
• The awards ceremony will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
• All winners will be announced online on November 16, 2026.

This milestone year is expected to be the largest yet. Submissions are now open at www.iowamusicawards.com. Selected submissions may also be highlighted and considered for performance opportunities leading up to the event.

Tour starts officially in ONE week! And due to some scheduling issues for some of the artists (booked and busy) we have ONE slot left in each of these cities except for Peoria and Cedar Rapids. Comment the best artist in each one of these cities, we’d love to bring out a hometown legend or give someone one of their first opportunity to be apart of something Epic.
