What a day! Today I spent hanging out with the kids at @monarcaacademy_ at their end of the year kids battle. Thank you again to @emma_grace.2 @sj_swaroopjohn and @makayladancepage14 for helping me judge the event. My students got to have the battle experience to share with their peers. They battled it out in front the entire school!

And they ate!!!!! So proud of them all. Who are we? #1monarca

Last night was the night 🔥. I am glad that I am a part of @trybennight shoutout to @dronawise @transcriptrecords @zero40brew @dj_roy_99 for getting this sorted as always 😎. Full love to my brothers @arun.aloysius @mathew_akash.21 @akbar_abu @breaker_simi @_lavish_palad_ and @sj_swaroopjohn for spending some good time in their busy schedule ❤️. Only love and respect to my main man @tarunstgram for the love and support❤️🤗. Now that’s been said this is the last show for this year ie 2023. Can’t wait to hit 2024. Always great to HIP HOP and this beautiful city 👊❤️

First off happy birthday Hip Hop! What can I say? Where do I even start? Yesterday was just so amazing. Watching my student @brandi_chan18 go from being frustrated to now make prelims at all to watching her make it to the finals. Hearing how she called her mom right after and how much her mom was proud of her!

Watching @studioj2dance students go from being scared to battle to actively hungry for battling!

Watching proud parents in the audience scream and cheer for everyone!

There was so much love and I couldn't be happier. Thank you everyone who help and made this possible!

Join us to celebrate 50 Years Of Hip Hop with our “Week of Street Dance” event 🎉

There will be daily workshops in a variety of styles including hip hop, breaking, krump, popping, voguing, and animation. There will also be workshops in freestyle and a battle lesson!

Let’s take it back to 50 years ago! It was August 11th 1973 where DJ Kool Herc threw a back to school jam in the Bronx, NY! This is where hip hop as we know it today began. Join us on August 11th, the 50th Year Anniversary, for a “Celebration of Hip Hop” block party and dance battle! This will take place at the new Jefferson Street Venue a block away from the studio. There will be a DJ, food trucks, activities for kids and so much more!

Season 3: 5 levels of animation; level 4 animaTING
Season 4: you put them all together and you get the technique of Bopping.
Those who have finished reality check and/or are on season 4 can see what the final product is here!

And at the end of the day, the animation is still POWERFUL. That’s what many people who claim to do animation are missing, the power. How do you get the power, by putting it together through transitional glitches.
We are half way through season 1 and 1/3 through season 2!
Season 3 starts in May and season 4 begins in June. The next cycle of reality check season will begin in September!
So those who are on your 4 month break right now, are you training the technique? Because every season gets harder and it’s always accumulated
