BEHIND THE LENS WITH NICK MELE 📸🌴🐊: Renowned Palm Beach photographer Nick Mele visited Charlotte this spring for an evening at The Grove in Myers Park. We sat down with him to talk whimsy, sophistication, dogs, alligators, alpacas, and why Newport, R.I. is his favorite place to shoot. @nickmelephotography “I want people to wonder what happened five minutes before and what’s about to happen five minutes after.” 📷 His take on Charlotte? “A blend of Southern polish and growing creative energy. People seem increasingly willing to embrace personality and boldness. I also think there’s an appreciation in Charlotte for entertaining and home culture that reminds me of older Southern traditions. It reminds me a lot of Washington, D.C., where I grew up, and that makes me happy. Full interview in our July issue. 👉 Link in bio. 📍The Grove @thegroveclt Event photography @christinahussey #NickMele #Photography #PalmBeach #CharlotteStyle #QueenCityLifestyle

We recently stopped by @thegroveclt (a wonderful local membership club for families in Charlotte) to check in on the play space we designed for them a few years ago — the Tree House! Complete with a slide, climbing panel, monkey bar ladder, two-story fort, stage, wall tracks for hot wheels, + plenty of books, costumes, and trucks for all the imaginative play. 💭 What a privilege to have had a hand in creating this magical space and to see it being used and loved by so many sweet Charlotte families. If you’re local to the Queen City and have young kids, you’ve got to check out membership options at @thegroveclt !
