Happy Father's Day! Bring your Dad to see the show~ OPEN 12-5 pm Sunday. Rob Maushund "Fire Life and the burning desire to be free" (22” x 22” including frame. Pen and ink on 24 pt C1S SBS board). In Rob's words:
The art (pictured) is based on not only the year of the fire horse but also the story of Yaoya Oshichi who attempted to burn down the town of Hongo to win her lover back. This happens in 1666 during the fire horse year. And for this she was burned at the stake. The image of Yaoya is actually drawn from a photo of Dagmar Zuniga for no other reason than I liked it better.
The drawing is also about woman’s strength, power, energy, freedom, success and loyalty. And then there’s the horse flies, because I liked those as well.

Kristi and I planned to work on our frontsides, Rob was working on BS slashers (because his frontside grinds are already PERFECT 😤)… but somehow it ended in a SPLASH 💦😂
SO FUN
