@nycbroadwaybomb 🔥🔥🔥

I’ve been meaning to check out this event and finally joined the fun this Saturday. The Broadway Bomb is an 8-mile longboard race down Broadway from 116th Street to the Charging Bull in Downtown. There’s no entry fee, and it’s unsanctioned meaning you’re racing down open streets through Manhattan traffic. Watch out for others, wear a helmet, and no skitching!

What I experienced in my first event of this kind was a welcoming community, everyone was super nice. The majority of skaters there had proper longboard setups appropriate for the course, but there were also some cruiser boards and popsicle decks with bigger softer wheels. I did the race on my @theheatedwheel Polarizer board (6” wide by 27.5” long) which was fun and maneuverable but my legs were on fire from all that pushing, haha!

The race itself was thrilling. Just keeping up with the pack to stay safe seemed to be the way to go as we were holding up traffic blasting down Broadway. There were definitely some quick maneuvers required so I would not recommend this to anyone without a bunch of experience. I crossed the bull in about 45 minutes fully exhilarated and looking forward to next year! (Maybe on a bigger board next time 😂)

Mccarren Park fun from 2016.
99% filmed by NUDE @activated_corpse
Fun note as that was where I met @losfakie for the first time. I learned back no handed blunts on the ramp there when I met him that day and we’re still friends.

Snuck in and dropped in on the mega wall. Even after the security put up the barrier to try and stop people from skating it.
Thanks @porkbunzzzz and @nlumba for filming and hyping me. Yes it was scary but what a rush. Huge shout out to @redbullskate and @stever_nyc for creating such a fun event.

We found Chin yesterday. On our quest for FUN we ventured out to 3 skateparks and a taco 🌮 heaven in the Rockaways all in the span of 10 hours. Battling the heat tons of laughs, high fives, smiles, and stoke were exchanged.
Summer might be over but the memories live on forever in these short clips.
Special thanks to @tacowaybeach for the best tacos 🌮 in NY.
The @skateyogi crew skated hard but laughed harder. Till the next adventure.
