twenty one pilots. hometown, biggest show. truly did not disappoint. having seats as opposed to GA always has me somewhat conflicted. i almost never want to bring a camera, because it’s hard to find dynamic photographs from a fixed, far position. yet i always bring it, and i always convince myself to get creative in the editing. i took some liberties with these edits lol let me know what you think!

i am about a month and a half shy of listening to this band for 13 years. i’ve said this a lot, but their meaning to me has continued to change throughout time. initially, they gave me hope that i am not alone, no matter what my head says. 2016 they became my artistic expression, a place to vent and create without fear. 2018, they became a light at the end of a dark hallway that i didn’t know how i’d find a way out of. 2021 they became a beacon of self expression, inspiring me to create outside of the tøp umbrella. 2025 they became all three of my kid’s favorite music.
i remember thinking i’d never make it to getting married. and then when that happened, i thought there’s no way we have children. and now there’s a joy i can’t quite articulate, when i hear these little beings sing songs with joy and gusto that i would sing alone wondering what the “point” of it all was.

all that to say, the fight for purpose and the wrestling with divinity is all worth it. don’t forget to look up and see how far you’ve come. push on through.
