🧟 Monster Mashup Book Challenge 🧟

I was tagged in this spooky season book challenge by the marvellous @taherasplace (Thank you 🙌🏻) and I thought I'd see what I could mash together.

The idea is to merge two book titles together to create a totally new book...swipe if you dare 👉🏻 They sort of get worse as the go along 😬

I'm tagging some legends, but if you read this far, you're tagged too.

QOTD❓ Let your phone mash up a book title for you.

My autobiography is called _______________

AOTD: My autobiography is called a sensitivity to the gym.

Sounds legit.

✍🏻 Poetry Bookstack Challenge ✍🏻

Britain's favourite Bookstagrammer and all round good egg @mylifein.books tagged me in a challenge to create a poem using book titles. Here we go.

A Monster Calls,
Survive The Night,
The Devil You Know,
The Devouring Light,
A Time To Kill,
Hark! The Herald Angels Scream,
Where I End,
The Bazaar of Bad Dreams.

I think I deserve extra points for making it rhyme 🤷🏻

I'm going to tag some Bookstalegends, but if you read this far...you are tagged!

QOTD❔What's your favourite poem? Do you have any poetry of your own you'd like to share?

☕ Coffee and Currently Reading ☕

And relax. It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I have the weekend to chill before returning to work on Monday. So I have summoned the energy I have in reserve to bring you this coffee and currently reading.

I am absolutely loving Crime & Punishment by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Sometimes a book gets it's claws into you and refuses to let up and that's where I am with this. It has become an obsession. I'm reading this with @mylifein.books - Charlotte has read this before and gave me fair warning that this would be my kind of thing* It is reminding me a lot of Les Miserables (but even darker if that's possible) which can only be a good thing. Anyway, I'm going to go and read some more.

I'll tag some Instagram legends - but if you answer my QOTD below, you're tagged as well.

QOTD❓ Totally unrelated to the book...but what's your favourite movie with Nuns in it?

Titus Groan//Mervyn Peake

Slowly making progress on my first ever buddy read.
(The buddy being @skeletonsandsmut, not Alan as pictured)

What we've learnt so far - this book is fucking weird.

End of Watch//Stephen King

Thanks to @skeletonsandsmut, I can add End of Watch to my King Collection.

This also means I can finally read the whole Bill Hodges Trilogy.
I've been waiting until I had them all 🎉

💗Feature Friday💗

So for this Feature Friday, we’re highlighting the book besties who love the same music I love.

As we all know, music is very important to me. Meeting such amazing book friends who also love the same music you do is the best. Whether we’re sending each other songs, concert videos, or just geeking out over bands, I adore them!

This isn’t all of the music friends because Instagram only lets you tag 20 people but iykyk 💗

(E)arthlings - Sayaka Murata
The (E)xpanded Earth - Mikey Please
(P)an’s Labyrinth - Guillermo Del Toro and Cornelia Funke
