Winter is just around the corner, and I’m already looking forward to getting back on the snowboard!

Throwback to the tail end of last season at @skidagmar Ski Resort, when the snow was melting, the hills were washing out, and everyone was having a blast pond skimming!

Colton and I were out there seeing if we could make it across the water on our snowboards.

Someone happened to catch this run on video, and after I made it across, you can hear him yell, “OH, IT’S DAD POWER!”

Couldn’t have said it better myself!

These are the moments I look forward to every winter. Getting outside, having some fun, and making memories with my son.

Summer is great, but there’s something about winter that I absolutely love.

Who’s ready for snowboard season?

A few days ago, we featured our first set of New Recruits who have begun their training. Today, we recognize that all Patrollers (new and returning) have 'good people around them.' The Instructor Team! This amazing group completed their own certifications in the spring and summer so that they would be ready to support the training season.

SLIPPERY WHEN WET!
5km FoamFest!!

Epic journey. Epic challenge. Epic friends. An unforgettable experience! ❤️🙏

I took on the Toronto 5K Foam Fest Challenge at Dagmar Ski Resort for the first time—and this was no leisurely 5K! Hills, mud, foam, obstacles, and my personal favourite: the 25-foot Death Drop! 💪🔥

But the most powerful moment happened after my rope climb!

I met Philip, who told me he felt inspired seeing me climbing this crazy 25 ft rope climb! He shared with me about his recent diagnosis, introduced me to his beautiful family, and spoke about his commitment to becoming the best version of himself for himself and his family.

With tears in our eyes, we embraced—and continued the 5K FoamFest together.

Philip, you said I inspired you, but brother, you inspired me. Together, we crossed the finish line as newfound friends. 🙏❤️

I was reminded of God’s strength and the privilege of walking alongside everyday warriors—people facing adversity, uncertainty and silent battles, yet choosing to show up and LIVE.

Life places obstacles before all of us. Some are visible; others are carried within.

So step beyond your comfort zone. Embrace your new normal. Challenge what you believe is possible.

You never know who your courage may inspire—or whose courage may inspire you.

You are not as alone as you think.

Sometimes, all it takes is one person willing to reach out and say:

“Let’s cross this finish line together.”
❤️
Shout out to my Warrior Bro’s for their support giving me that sure footing when needed!! 🫶🙏

We interrupt our recruitment posts with some incredible news. Congratulations to our Kawartha Zone colleague and friend, Rob Carson, who has just completed an end-to-end hike of the Appalachian Trail. Starting in Georgia, and spanning 2200 mile/ 3541 km and 14 states, Rob reached the end of his trek in Maine on July 27th. This massive accomplishment achieves a 44yr dream for him. Northstar Rob, we are in awe of, and thrilled for, you!
